5164A vs 5712A
Hi guys I'm looking to add my first PP into my line-up but having trouble deciding between the two: Aquanaut Traveltime 5164 and Nautilus 5712A. While I've had the chance to see the 5164 in the metal, I've so far only seen the 5711 in real.My thoughts until now are that the aquanaut is much sportier and might suit my age better. Also my classy sportswatch spot is already kinda taken by my AP15202 jumbo. However I also already have the gmt batman thus the traveltime function seems redundant, altho I very much like the overall look of the 5164. Then again the Nautilus is legendary and the more I look at the 5712 the more I like it (won't be able to get the 5711 here from an AD anyways). The micro-rotor movement is stunning too. But I feel like I would be too scared to wear the 5712 much, similar to the 15202, considering the delicate finish. The Aquanaut seems more everyday friendly, although my gmt is already my daily beater. For the 5164 I'm on the list in Zurich and was told it should
Question about Titanium
Now I have a question because I saw some photos of Panerai watches Titanium and wanted to know if all of them has the bezel dull brushed. I thought the 351 and the 564 had the brilliant bezel but now I doubt. For example I was watching a 176 Titanium and was brushed bezel. They are also all or some of Titanium? Do you guys may clarify this issue for me?Thanks friends.Have a nice week-end
Saying goodbye to my 16610.....for a ?58
I had a Sub inch to scratch and did that last year when I bought a nos 16610. It has been my daily wearer but will be replaced as that by the BB58. My problem with the Sub has been that is it too recognisable and I find people and clients staring at it, more so than by Ceramic white dial Daytona. At the start or Rolex ownership I wanted this type of under the radar acceptance that I had a nice watch but as I lived with them i stared wearing watches for me and not others. Im now at the stage where I want what I like and not what I think others would like, for sure this is the attraction for many to Rolex and it was part of it for me. Im over that now. So, I always wanted a vintage looking piece but it is a mine field trying to find something original and good for a fair price.....Enter the BB58. It looks the perfect size for my small wrist and I really like the design, so I have agreed to move my Sub on and waiting quietly for the 58. The Daytona will have to take up the slack for a whi
Finally a Rolex owner!
The A.D. just called like an hour ago, and said she just got a new50th RED Sea dweller, only one she saw come into the store this year. She obviously asked the most important question, what is your credit card info. LOL
New incoming - their tactic worked!
Earlier this week my local AD hooked me up with a hulk when I went in to look at a DD40, this 'favour' meant I had no option but to go ahead with the DD40 purchase - I am a gentleman after all In all seriousness though, I am very pleased with this new purchase, Rolex's yellow gold is such a wonderful colour and the president bracelet combined with the fluted bezel is an absolutely winning combination. I had thought about a different dial but in the end it had to be the classic & iconic champagne with sticks The AD was kind enough to include a battery operated watch winder (much needed for my safe!) and a lovely Rolex overnight bag - plus I earned enough Avios for a weekend city break so will be able to use the bag soon. So a very satisfactory transaction and it's great to have a 'good' AD in my local city. Some pics of the arrival, meeting its new stablemate, and a couple of wrist shots in the sun.Cheers everyone RJ
