Rolex Daytona Watch: A Zero To Hero Story
Written by Andrew Morgan for watches-dealerThe StoryIf there's ever been a story of zero to hero, it's that of the Rolex Daytona. Unloved and unwanted, selling barely 500 units annually in its formative years, the Rolex Daytona has grown to become one of the most coveted watches of all time, commanding year-long waiting lists and astonishing residuals. The question is, how did that happen? This is the journey that turned Rolex's loser of a David into a hulking great Goliath. The Sixties was the decade of the sports chronograph. Jack Heuer's appointment as CEO of Heuer guided the launch of the Autavia in 1962 and the Carrera in 1963. Omega's Speedmaster was among the first to the game, introduced at the tail end of the Fifties. But the chronograph was no new invention; seen as early as 1816 in Louis Moinet's astronomical pocket watch, and in smaller wristwatch form at the beginning of the 20th century, the chronograph was old news. In fact, Rolex itself had been making chronograph watche
Diver Bracelet, yay or nay?
I need to ask all you AP bracelet wearing hombres this. I have an opportunity to buy the bracelet for my ROO Diver at a very good price. The rubber strap is super comfortable and I like how it feels on my wrist. It is similar in weight to my Rolex Exp 2 Polar. The bracelet looks amazing but I am not sure I want the added weight. How does the diver sit on your wrist with the bracelet compared to the rubber? Does the added weight cause you to not wear the watch for long periods of time? How difficult is it to remove the rubber, size the bracelet and install? My wrist size is slightly larger than 7.25.Thanks in advance!!
Survivor or T3 Model
Hey guys, does anyone on here wear either of these models on a regular basis?Got a wrist pic or two for us???A Survivor sold on German ebay today for 18,000 Euros/ $24.5k..... Ouch!Cheers,John
Pam 1523
Looking to get into the world of Panerai, but like several other posters here, have a smaller wrist. I like the style on the PAM 1523 and was wondering if anybody had the dimensions of the watch, namely lug-to-lug and thickness.thanks in advance
Help me (please)!
I have been looking at Panerai as I'm not loving my Submariner 16610. I have a Tudor Big Block and 1675 which I love, but I'm looking at something different as an everyday piece. I tried a few and the 590 felt right. So, I've narrowed it to 44mm Luminor and manual as the case is slimmer. I'd really like sandwich dial and clear case back. I need to trade/sell Sub without additional funds if possible, and hopefully not get rinsed if I need to move it on. Don't mind used. So enablers, help me out and pictures are a must!!
