Zenith El Primero Tourbillon
When Jean-Frdric Dufour took the reigns at Zenith in 2009, he shifted the brand away from over-the-top styling with a “back to basics” message and an emphasis on product. Speaking with WatchTime’s Norma Buchanan for her profile Inside Guy in the December issue, Dufour said “I will devote all my energy, all my money, to El Primero, to make Zenith different from the others.” True to his word, Zenith launches the El Primero Tourbillon. Zenith emphasizes this new piece it is not simply a tourbillon. Beyond that difficult-to-achieve complication, it is of course a chronograph, with a unique calendar display, in which the signature 36,000 vph frequency is retained, making it the only high-frequency tourbillon on the market today. The dial’s asymmetric aesthetic highlights the tourbillon's mechanism, visible through an opening in the dial, while maintaining the overall proportions and lines. The date is displayed C in a patented system C by means of a disk

I'm truly excited to share the newest addition to my collection. I've had my eye on this particular watch for nearly a year and as a new member, I'd like to give my thanks to the forum members who helped guide me along the way. Thank you. A great deal of thanks also needs to be paid to the AD I purchased it from, Armen of Darakjian Jewelers. He was extremely timely and a joy to work with. The watch is absolutely astounding. I can't believe I waited a year to pull the trigger!
1972 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch - Hard to come by?
I've been searching for a 1972 Omega Speedmaster moonwatch, but can't seem to locate one FS (birth year). Is this because the Speedmaster was replaced with the MK2 version? Every time I run a search it's only the MK2 that pops up. Or, I could also be impatient...
Platinum model pricing and availability
Just wondering whether or not platinum Patek models are a more limited in supply compared to other precious metals/stainless, and whether there is more flexibility in pricing similar to Rolex (I've been offered various platinum Rolex models at 30%+ off MSRP).The reason I'm curious is that I've been offered what I think is a nice price on a platinum Patek (5196p), when I was really in the market for white gold. However, if these models are more collectible, I might try to negotiate a bit more and stretch the wallet for platinum. Thanks for any input.
Basel World speculation
What are the chances that Rolex comes out with a yellow gold DateJust 41? They already have it in the DateJust 36. So it kind of makes sense. A Day-Date is around 25KA YG 36mm DateJust is around 19K or so?I could see a 41mm DateJust for around 20k.Would it just hurt the sales of the DayDate 40?I personally don't care for the day function and wouldn't really buy a DayDate. What do you think?
