Zeitwinkel 273�� Watch
Zeitwinkel is a still relatively unknown brand making a range of dressy mechanical watches with in-house movements from their home in Saint Imier, Switzerland. While Zeitwinkel, whose name means "time angle" (in reference to a sundial), is only a few years old, they have managed to develop their own in-house movements and a range of watches in both 42.5 and 39mm sizes. Created by a design professor and watch enthusiast, Zeitwinkel is one of those small brands that just seems to be doing their own thing at their own pace. With simple but detailed styling that, much like their name, could be confused for German, Zeitwinkel is definitely worth a closer look.Zeitwinkel's flagship model is the 273��, a 42.5mm everyday dress watch that boasts multiple complications backed by their ZW 0103 in-house movement. Been in the market for a Speedmaster...Auto, Pro, not super important to me.But since I'm building a race-engine for a car right now, saving a big chunk of money wasn't a difficult decision to make when I found this gem locally:I think it's an early model with that caseback. It's not brandnew, but then again, neither am I. lol.

Ceragold...
So... My understanding is that the ceragold refers to the bezel only...Is this correct?I was hoping that it would be some kind of gold pvd coating on the case that would make it scratch resistant....I guess not.Seems like Ceragold is just a fancier name, like liquid metal...Still a gorgeous watch...but not as exciting as the name would suggest....Rolex has been blending precious metals and ceramic bezeks for over 7 years now...

Dear TRF friends.... During my recent trip to Germany I came across my Grail at a Patek AD Once it was on my wrist I knew that from this moment forwards nothing else would excite me unless it was of a similar calibre... I have been wanting to add a grand complication and have been leaning towards this piece... And now that I have tried it on I am totally excited about this watch!However before I can allow myself to go ahead with this purchase I have to sell off a few pieces... I want to be able to just enjoy a few great watches rather than a lot of good watches now for the fun part.... Please share your thoughts with me... Out of my current Patek collection, which three Pateks would you keep and which ones would you sell in order to get the 5270R!I already have an idea however, I just want to see what you guys think! So let's have some fun!

I did something silly today
I had some time to kill before meeting some people for lunch (anyone in Melbourne - make sure you have a burger at Merrywell) - so I stopped by the AD to get a feel for the size of a nautilus and how it would wear on my wrist.They had a 5726 in the window, so I asked to try that on. I shouldn't have done that.. I managed through a massive force of will to drag myself out of the shop, but I am going to be thinking about it for a long time.At least they didn't have a 5711 in stock, that could have been an expensive burger lunch! Also, the attendant there mustn't deal with their Patek stock all that often. Maybe they have different staff on the weekends. They didn't know anything about when the 5227's would be available here (fair enough), but first tried telling me they had one and sold it late last year! I politely suggested that perhaps they meant the 5127..
