Antiquorum October 20 Auction Benefits National Multiple Sclerosis Society

This is the first in a series of annual events that will offer watch enthusiasts the opportunity to bid on fine timepieces while supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in their movement toward a world free of MS. Breaking in hornback straps
I was chatting with the AD and I mentioned how stiff hornbacks were. She recommended putting rice in a sock, tying it off, and microwaving it until it was warm. Then wrap your hornback around it. This supposedly will help soften the strap and bend it. Has anyone ever tried this?

This model in the White dial version was the first Patek that made me think , wow. I love this design and the White dial over all other variations of this model. I have seen a few posts on this forum from owners of the rose gold version, however have yet to see the White dial On this forum.In the UK my AD informed me that there was no difference in pricing between these two models.Is the White dial less popular?
My Rolex story - new chapters added monthly
I was never big on Rolex due to the connotations associated with it and the fact that everyone and their mom knows Rolex - I don't like drawing attention to myself. I finally decided to give in and buy my first Rolex once my wife gave me the go ahead.I walked in to an AD 3 months ago and picked up a 114060 SubC. Great watch as it is built like a tank and the bracelet on it nothing short of amazing. Buying the 114060 was a bad idea . . . as it was an eye opener. A month later I walked in to a local jeweler that only carries pre-owned watches including quite a few Rolexes. I tried on a Polar 16570. I always thought the watch looked bland in pictures but in person I fell in love immediately. I went back home and did some research and ended up purchasing one with drilled lug holes and SELs. (side note - I had no idea what SELs meant only a few months earlier)I've since been kind of struggling with the SubC.
