Royal Oak for 40th?
Hello folksWriting in from India. I have the big 40th coming up and I've been looking at something special to mark the occasion. I have the opportunity of purchasing a new Royal Oak ref 15400 ST from an AD in India and was wondering if a white dial would be more versatile than the grey/ black dial one? The AD has the watch wrapped in cling film so it's hard for me to appreciate the true beauty of the White dial. Is the white suitable for both casual and formal occasions as opposed to the grey/ black?I'm getting a 20% discount from the AD in Delhi, which brings the price of the Royal Oak to about US$ 15,500. Is that a good deal? How does the AP hold up to daily wear. I believe it's quite a scratch magnet and while most of my time is spent at the desk, I'm worried about picking up scuffs on the bracelet. Is it really as bad as it's made out to be?A 38.5 mm Lange & Sohne Saxonia in yellow gold is also available at the same price (there's a 30% discount on it) and that's the other watch
I confess.....
Huge thanks once again to Mr David SW
Where to find an old style "beads of rice" goldplate bracelet for 1960s Seamaster DV?
A family member who knows I have taken an interest in 1960s Omega Seamaster watches has given me his Seamaster De Ville (I think it is a 166.0020). Presently it has an after market bracelet.I would like to try to find as good of condition as possible OEM bracelet for it. Anyone have any idea where I might be able to find a good condition 1037 (the 9 row) beads of rice bracelet (gold plated)?I have looked at a few that are described as very good condition on eBay and most look really terrible. As a result I am hoping to find a source for this other than taking my chances on eBay.
Wife said me sub looks like a...
Timex .Exact words. “It’s nice, not as bulky as the other one you tried on, but it looks like a timex”. To be fair my wife loves the Rolex models... it just has to have diamonds.I had to explain to her this is the quintessential dive watch etc etc.“Ok”Lol
Hitting no 10 today and may be a point to stop now
Just picked up a 116610 today in response to my ADs call last night. Just sat down in my office a while ago to do a stock-take and realized I'm hitting the mark of 10 Rolexes since the Daytona C which got me started it all in Dec 2016 ...The sound of this isn't right somehow - almost like I've turned into an addict - I'm thinking to myself I must stop buying more Rolex from now on .... In case you wonder here's the list I came up with: 1. 116500LN white Daytona C2. 116520 black3. 16520 (U series) black4. 16520 (A series) black5. 16570 Polar6. 1680 red Mk I7. 116660 deepsea blue 8. 126600 seadweller red 50th anniversary9. 114060 Sub C no date10. 116610 Sub CSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
