New addition....but will be off to APSC Monday for a facial
Just picked up this mint 39mm SS ROC. Been on the hunt for the past year for an H serial that's complete with box and papers. Finally landed one today. Will send it off to APSC on Monday for a dial swap - to the deep navy dial (just like Fred's gorgeous SS ROC). Can hardly wait to get it back. Reference guide for Patek Calatravas?
So I am looking into buying my first Patek potentially as my next watch purchase and have been leaning towards a pre-owned 3919J however I was curious about previous similar 3 hand calatrava references that may have been available over the last 40 years or so that I may find preferable to the 3919. Any suggestions of where I could find something online that would have the info on the past calatravas so I can see what else is out there? Or is anyone aware of some other references I should research of look into? Looking for a three hand, no date, manual wind in the 33-37mm range. I do prefer the roman numeral dial of the 3919 over say the applied hour markers on the 5196J put am not a fan of the 3919 hob knob case finish.
UK AD nonsense to be practiced in US.
Was at my AD today and placed a deposit on a GMT 2 tone that will be a gift for my uncle. After I give the deposit he tells me that since its a gift they will retain the warranty card until he confirmed receipt of said gift. I was shocked. He then shows me an email from rolex that says best practices since the rolex product is in auch high demand Rolex Authorized Jewelers must adopt Rolex's Best Practices 1) no warranty card to be left blank 2) all watches must be sold in store and stickers must be peeled at time of purchase. 3) if watch is a gift then warranty card will be retained till the gift is confirmed and then will be shipped to the recipient. I was in shock! Long story short, I have a very good relationship with my AD and he knows my family very well so he agreed to ship the card with the watch. Rolex is really starting to get out of hand.
John Mayer on Colbert 11/17. What watch?
Musician and WIS John Mayer performed w/Dead & Company on Stephen Colbert last night. What timepiece was he wearing? My guess: 116719BLRO. Yours? Weigh in.
