Basel Preview: Breguet Tradition Fusee Tourbillon With Silicon Balance Spring
In 1795, Breguet conceived the Breget overcoil spring, today still the reference in terms of balance springs. In 2006, Breguet introduced its first wristwatches with silicon balance spring and escapement. Today, the new Breguet silicon balance spring is featured in the Breguet Tradition 7047 model with tourbillon and fusee-and-chain transmission. Inspired by the design of the first tourbillon-equipped pocket watches devised by Breguet, a platinum version is now available fitted with a movement fashioned in an anthracite-toned metal alloy. The fusee-and-chain transmission connected to the barrel ensures constant force for as long as the watch is running. A number of patents applications involve the large tourbillon resonator at one o'clock on the watch face, one for a titanium balance and three relating to Breguet silicon balance springs. A further patent was awarded for a power-reserve indicator positioned directly on the barrel.Additional information appears below the image, which y

If you could have just one....
If you could have just one AP and one Rolex (or other brand) what would you choose? Having a debate/discussion with a friend and we have a differing of opinion and I would like to see your comments... Oh boy this should be interesting...
Greys - If you had to Guess %
Something occurred to me. First I will say that I am a big fan of the trusted sellers here. Particularly a nice fellow in Central Florida who has been good to me. Fair prices, fair trades, great service. Watches I would otherwise have to wait for. My question is this... what percentage of overall Rolex sales in 2017/2018 do you think go though greys? Of course, no way to quantify with real accuracy, so best guesses are ok. I'm curious.TRF is an relatively small group of hard core brand fans. We lose sight, I think, of the fact that much of the world does not know of or deal with grey dealers. So if the percentage is as small as I think it is, how can they allegedly have such an influence on the market and to justify the current poor AD availability and strategies?I hope this makes sense. If not, I'm sure I will hear it. My guess ...10% max.
Rolex Space-Dweller
Learned something new today. I had no idea Rolex once produced a Space-Dweller. https://.bobswatches/rolex-bl...e-dweller.html
