Calatrava Ref# 2526
Stopped in my favorite AD this afternoon to pick up a couple of new straps and behold what was sitting in the estate case....circa 1955/56 yellow gold 2526. Of the 50+ pieces in the case, this one stood out to me the most. Unfortunately, no box or paper and a good chunk of the porcelain dial is missing between 9 & 10 o'clock. The wrist presence is simply amazing and timeless. I can live without the box & paper but the cracked dial...

You got that right. Caught up on watches and life in general (not necessarily in that order) right here in NYC, and even visited a few dealers on 47th street to check out the wares. Pics below. Was in Stuttgart over the Easter weekend, visited the 4 Rolex AD's as they are all a few minutes from each other.None of them have waiting lists and all watches are displayed in the window and get brought like that.Strangest experience for me was the 1st AD I went into, bearing in my mind my wife had her Lady DateJust28 with diamonds & I had my Hulk on, the sales person wouldn't even let me just walk around the shop after I asked about SS models in general! She pretty much said there's nothing else here that you'll be interested in and all our Rolexs are in the window , while blocking our path to the rest of the store .SS wise, the default SS selection of Air King, Explorer watches alongside the PM range.
What to blame for lack of stainless steel sports models at Ads..
