IWC's latest release has 550 parts and weighs a hefty 4 kilograms. It was three years in the making. It's sure to delight watch lovers everywhere, though it does not tell time. It's a book. As you would expect, IWC Schaffhausen. Engineering Time Since 1868 chronicles the company's history from the founding in 1868, but it also includes an unexpected book within a book . More about that in a minute. The book has three authors. German journalist Manfred Fritz presents the comprehensive company history, compiled with careful attention to historical accuracy. Fritz comes from the area near Schaffhausen and he is a genuine watch enthusiast who has published a number of watch-related books. He previously authored Die Grande Complication von IWC (The Grande Complication of IWC), published in 1991. The book includes 500 illustrations, many of which have never been published before. Help needed 5712 SS or WG?
Hi everyone,Like you all know I have ordered the 5712 in SS, but today my grey dealer told me that he has just received the 5712 in White Gold, it is from 2012, he will send it to Patek Philippe to have it slightly polished and to change the bracelet.The white gold would cost me 400 euros more than the SS.For me the plus of the SS is the bracelet, I prefer metal bracelets to leather, and the beautiful blue dial.The plus of the White gold is that it's gold, the grey dial is also great and it would cost me basically 10.500 euros less than retail price, whereas on the SS version I would save Seeing that I will be living in one year in Thailand maybe the metal bracelet is the better choice, honestly I prefer the SS version because of the metal bracelet, but maybe it is more reasonable to get the gold version for this price?Knowing that I won't be able to buy another Nautilus, so the one I buy will be the only one, maybe will be able to get later an Aquanaut but 2 Nautilus is just impossibl

DJ 41 chipped/scratched bezel. Idea? Suggestion?
Hi all, tried to ask the question in some threads but no answer, so I thought I start my own thread. I'm thinking to let go my DJ 41, but several months ago I dropped it accidentally thus creating this deep scratched/chipped on the bezel, hopefully, you guys can all see it from these photos. Anyone know if this type of thing can be easily polished? Or should I purchase a new bezel to replace it and then sell it. Not sure how much original bezel from Rolex, but I notice aftermarket parts on eBay cost relatively $800-900 for WGAnother option is, the main reason I want to let it go is due to the really shiny bezel, it's a little bit 'loud' for me, I also saw a SS bezel replacement for DJ, thinking maybe I can get the SS bezel and just keep the DJ, after all, I bought the watch when my daughter turned 1. Any suggestions appreciated.

Would you pull the trigger on this SD4K
So I have been lurking around this site for some time now, been window shopping even longer and figure this is as good a time as any for my first post. I am looking to make my first Rolex purchase in the near future and have narrowed it down to either a new or preowned SubC Date or SD4k.On a recent trip to a reputable brick and mortar I ran across a DS4K in excellent to mint shape and even had a few stickers left hidden on the clasp. It comes with a two year in house warranty, but no box or papers. The price with a discount came out to $6,745. I know if it sounds too good to be true it probably is, but I am starting to think I probably shouldn't have walked out of the store without this one. What do you think? Should I go back and scoop this up. If so, is there anything in particular I should look out for or ask?
