Speedmaster help
Here is a picture of my current collection. I am looking to add another piece and I have narrowed it down to either a white Rolex explorer 16570 or a speedmaster with a white dial. I am fairly knowledgeable about Rolex models, but not so much on Speedmasters. I am looking for at least a partially white dial panda or Paul Newman type. I want to keep cost under $4k. Buying from. Trusted seller on this site would be how I would make the purchase. Any suggestions for a model Speedmaster for me?
Opinion on first Watch Purchase
I am 40 years old and I am about to buy my first watch. I have narrowed it down to the 5146g in slate dial with black strap or the aquanuaut 5167 with the stainless bracelet. I am torn.My dress at work is mostly biz casual and I wear suits some days and jeans on others. This will be my only watch and I would like something that I could give to my son one day although this will be an every day watch for me. I am not rich but I have put aside the money so cost is not a deciding factor between the two although I would like something that will hold value. Any opinions would be helpful and appreciated.
New Gunny straps for my 233
When I first got my 233 I got a few Toshi straps - .rolexforums/showthread.php?t=420370I wanted something different next time and after a few emails with Pattyb69 decided on a couple of Gunny straps - the Caitlin 2 and Caitlin 4. I took some photos of them today. The Caitlin 2 (the lighter one) is softer and really comfortable, but I like them both.
5 year evolution of a watch collection
i wanted to share the evolution in my watch collection over the last 5 years, it has dawned on me that I have come full circle back to the Daytona, the grail watch (black dial this time). It Seems like the perfect time to revisit the journey. hope you enjoy. In 1991 the Daytona was a Zenith version, it was impossible for me to find back then, I had my name and deposits with several AD in the nyc area. After waiting more than a year for a Daytona to surface, I gave up and decided to purchase my second choice, the Submariner 16613 Bluesy (E serial) new from Wempe on 5 ave in manhattan. The bluesy had become quite popular at the time.I went on to forget about the Daytona for 20 years and enjoy my Submariner, using it for any and all tasks as my only watch… then unexpectedly in 2010, a friend mentioned he had a guy who worked in a rolex AD, my friend told me this guy could make things happen… so I replied, if you want to test him, ask him if he can get me a Daytona? the call
Sub Debate... Hulk vs Blue
I have the HULK already and was wondering what's a better choice in the Sub. The HULK 116610LV or the BLUE two tone 116613... Which would you rather have? Would you unload the Hulk to pick up the blue??? Or would you unload the Hulk for anything else??
