Ulysse Nardin CEO Rolf Schnyder Passes On
Ulysse Nardin has announced that its CEO, Rolf W. Schnyder, unexpectedly passed away on April 14 after a short illness. Because a succession plan was already in place, current members of management will continue to operate the company without interruption, continuing in the spirit of Rolf W. Schnyder's vision. With the passing of Rolf W. Schnyder, the watchmaking industry has lost one of its greatest visionaries, while Ulysse Nardin has lost an important source of innovation for the firm. We are profoundly moved and distraught at this sudden loss. Our full sympathies are with his wife and his three children, to whom we would like to express our sincere condolences, said Susanne Hurni, press officer and head of media relations at Ulysse Nardin.Rolf W. Schnyder had acquired the family firm Ulysse Nardin in 1983, and since that time held the role of president and CEO at the helm of the manufacturer with its wealth of tradition. Hands-On with the Padron Selby
A couple of years ago, we put a piece together about Padron Watch Company, a one-man show out of Minneapolis. Leo Padron, said one-man, welcomed us into his watch making studio, where he designs and assembles his line of affordable and unique watches (yes, he's a watch maker). It's worth a read to learn a bit more about the man and his brand. At the time, he was just finishing up a successful Kickstarter campaign for his Tessera timepieces, one of several such projects. Now, he is currently at the end of yet another successful campaign for an update to the Tessera, named the Selby. What caught my about this watch, all of Padron's watches for that matter, was that it's totally his own vision. His watches are unique and almost bizarre, and while not for everyone, have an undeniable charm. Furthermore, in a sea of watches that seem to be slight variants on an idea or two, his bold designs are a nice change of pace. The Selby was actually the most low key of the bunch, in my eyes. At last....PO...new addition
Finally after the trials and tribulations of nearly being caught with a fake...Bought from authorised omega service centre, the photos don't do it justice, paid a little more than I intended to from the start but I have a 12 months warranty and documentation, it's kept perfect time over 15 hours (using Time is on my iPad) .....just got to get the fit right (took me 3 visits to the AD with my Rolex GMT), to be used for daily wear so that's the collection finished and sorted........yea of course ( my wife's words)😄After 30 years in the waiting.......GMT IIc
Submariner vibration and noise, help please.
Hi friends of this awesome forum.I need your help because I m worried.I m using a Submariner for 5years and 1 month non stop, day, night, holidays, work, sports.....everyday 24 hours x 5 years and 1month.Time is very good, only 2minutes more per month.1 week ago I began to listen a sound and a vibration. When I shake the watch in vertical position, the watch makes a sound. In horizontal position, no sound. When I m using the watch I feel a vibration sometimes, and listen the sound kind of rrrrr, not very loud, but I m little obsessed with it., like a pendolum kicking the wall of the watch. When I shake my hand.I dont want to spend money in a service, I m angry with Rolex because service is very expensive. What can I do? Any experiences? Opinions plz....thanks a million,Apologies for my bad english.Greetings from Chile,
