Christophe Claret Poker Watch Preview: Real Texas Hold 'Em On Your Wrist
The Poker watch by Christophe Claret is a mechanical timepiece that you can play actual poker with. This follows the innovative brand's Blackjack 21 and later Baccarat gaming watches for the ultimate horological and casino aficionado. It is hard to believe that it has already been two years since Christophe Claret debuted his Blackjack 21 watch (hands-on here) in 2011. The watch used a complex system of discs and patterns to allow you to play blackjack with the watch - with the watch being the dealer. Christophe always intended to follow-up with a watch that you could play poker with and for 2014, it is here. The Poker watch will take everything a step further and allow the user to play a full game of poker with the watch. We don't have all the details now as the watch will be fully debuted shortly, but the Poker should live up to Christophe Claret's original promise of producing a complete set of mechanical gaming watches starting with the Blackjack 21 and perhaps ending with the Poker
Found: F.P. Journe's Souscription Tourbillon #9, The Ninth Journe Ever, For Sale
While Phillips' second Geneva sale features some monumental vintage pieces from Rolex, Patek, Vacheron, and others, they also have a few modern pieces that have collectors buzzing – none more so than this Tourbillon Souveraine from F.P. Journe. But this isn't your typical Journe tourbillon – nay – this is one of his legendary "Souscription" Tourbillons – the first 20 wristwatches he ever made under his eponymous brand. 1 OF 4 Borrowing a page from A-L Breguet's book, Francois-Paul Journe did not have the necessary capital to launch his own label back in 1998. So, just like Breguet did when rebuilding his own manufacture after the French revolution, Journe reached out to 20 existing clients and friends to ask for a down payment on a watch that would come later. It was the funds raised here that he would use to build 20 tourbillons in a 38 mm platinum case with rhodium-plated, brass movement. The dial is the now legendary sparkl
Need help choosing a ROO...
Hello Everyone, Im looking to purchase my first AP watch and I was wondering what the cheapest 42mm-44mm ROO would be. Over the years I have purchased a couple of Breitlings, but there seems to be something really desireable about AP watches. I've thought about a rolex, but I see every other person with one on. Can someone help?
Trade advice.... again.
Realise that my 5711 (white) is not the most loved in my collection as I have been considering various trades. None have come live as realise it's rather special after all and it gets a fair share of wrist time and trading a patek for a diffrent brand feels wrong. But having a 5712 as well I would something a bit diffrent. I have the opportunity to trade against a 5711r but need to add aprox usd 8000 in between. Advise please ...Many thanks in advance and happy holidays
Accurate Central - PAM 233
I just noticed that my PAM 233 is scary accurate - only a few seconds late after more than a month of service. My 372 is running fast and my 514 is running really fast - both a P.3000 movement.Have you noticed the same?
