Hands-On: The Girard-Perregaux Minute Repeater Tourbillon With Gold Bridges
After Girard-Perregaux took home the Aiguille d’Or at the 2013 GPHG with its Constant Force Escapement piece, it claimed a staggering level of haute horology. That’s why a tourbillon minute repeater turned inside out for your viewing pleasure is really no surprise from the manufacture. We were big fans of the enamel dial 1966 Minute Repeater a couple of years ago, and, if aiming to surpass that was the goal, bringing the back to the front and adding a tourbillon is certainly a way to do it. 1 OF 5 The Tourbillon Minute Repeater is rather stunning to behold. The open-worked concept displays the striking mechanism’s components up front. There is no wrist or skin or case confining the chimes, only a layer of sapphire crystal. The 18k gold case itself is shaped, front and back, as an acoustic amplifier. Notice that the hammers are mounted on jewels to reduce friction, a means to increase both the speed of the strikes as well as the force of their impact. The
44mm AR ROO FC or Ti?
Close to pulling the trigger on one of these. These two are the most appealing due to their weight, or lack of. Which one would be better and why? Thanks!IMG_1681.JPGIMG_1680.JPGSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Did I just commit a robbery? haha
So I've been scanning ebay for weeks for a nice APRO to replace by beloved RO Chrono I had to sell to fund the purchase of my new PP 5711/1R... I of course was looking for a bargain... never would have expected this however.. It was an independent guy (not watch seller on ebay), the account was 10 years old, with a similar rating to mine (190ish)... no negative reviews. He had this up for auction, so I asked what price he'd want to end the auction... he sent me $6500... I was dumbfounded... The watch is essentially brand new he said, was a gift and he's not a watch person and there are no dealers in Arkansas that even know what to do with it. He ships it Fedex overnight and I'll know for sure if this was the deal it looks to be tomorrow...AP RO 15400ST. OO. 1220ST. 02Did I do ok??? (ASSuming I didn't just get scammed out of 6500!!??)
Trade-in PAM 111 for AP Diver?
Hi,I'm relatively new to AP, having acquired a silver dialled 15400ST earlier this year. However, the AP bug has caught up with me again and I am now keen on picking up the 15703 stainless steel diver. However, one watch from the rest of my collection, a Sea-Dweller 11660, JLC Master Control & Panerai PAM 111 has to go to help finance this purchase. I am keeping the Master Control and Sea-Dweller for sentimental reasons and still enjoying the 15400 so the PAM 111 seems the natural choice to let go.Would you say the 15703ST is a vastly superior watch to the PAM 111 or should I just stick with my current collection?
Time as come ...trading my pam 233 to DD 36 18038
Ok guys I finally made decision. I gonna trade my pam 233 to daydate 36 18038. Of course i have to pay bit more . Currently has champagne dial with Roman numerals. But never been a fan of roman dial. So asked to put black stick dial or champagne stick dial. Which one should i go for? Opinion? or you guys think im crazy?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
