Watch What-If: Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000
In this edition of watches-dealer's "Watch What-If," designer Niklas Bergenstjerna takes a look at the 2014 Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 dive watch (hands-on here), and imagines what it would be like for this icon-inspired diver to have been inspired by other natural frontiers. In a sense, the concept is "what if the Sea-Dweller 4000" was not a dive watch at all, but rather inspired by water, land, air, and space? Of course, at heart, the design of the Rolex Sea-Dweller is all about diving, so this is a mere artistic taste of what it might look like rendered as though it were inspired by something else.Above is what Bergenstjerna calls the "Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 Land," inspired by just that. In his words it is "a watch sprung from the deep woods. It has surfaces from the trees with earth tone colors. What about exploring the wild wearing a gold watch with a cork dial? Sure, why not! The Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 Land is the ultimate 'gold-digger' watch!"The next one is inspired by the sky, nam

Speedy Pro Question
Hi Folks, proud owner of a 20th Anniversary Apollo 11 Speedy. 861 Movement. My question is, how many times should I be winding it to get it fully wound? It quit working so sent it off to Omega for service, my dealer said to wind it 40 times and it would be fully wound. I did this and the watch only ran a short time. Sent it back to Omega, they put it in quality control. The watch came back again....they said nothing was wrong with it. This time I can wind it with 200 turns of the crown and the watch will not run 24 hours before quitting. In addition, I can wind this watch 200 turns of the crown and there is no stop , as in the crown indicating the watch is fully wound. Before the watch was ever serviced I did get a stop on the crown.I did call Omega yesterday, they said something was not right and to send it back, yes. Again. What if anything am I doing wrong? Please help. Regards Al
Vintage seamaster auto with date
im not sure of the model number.I saw one in a flea market with an original fishnet(sort of) bracelet.what's a reasonable price for it assuming 100% authentic?Dial looks aged but running fine. Plexi looks too new to be original though. It's an auto watch but the seller says I need to move the date wheel by turning from 9 to 3 and then 3 to 9...etc..sorry...but im a noob with omegas..just find the dial mesmerising.
Patek Philippe 6000G
I've been looking at this watch and asking myself is it a watch that I could wear.Patek6000G.JPGIt is 37mm wide. Now O.K. it is a dress watch but it is still slightly on the small side. However that 37mm becomes smaller when one takes into account that the outer ring is the date, so the hands and the hour and minutes function is smaller, yet again, than say a regular 37mm watch. So although it is a nice watch and a $18,000 price tag is significant (white gold), I would have to say this watch is not for me on aesthetic grounds. However the movement is a piece of art.I'm not sure how water resistant this watch is, if at all, but with those expensive leather straps...well let me just say, you would take it off before washing the dishes.
