New Omega Owner
I have been gradually getting more interested in Omega over the past year, ever since Chris (aka GMT Master) raved about them. I always liked the PO but felt it was a little too big and heavy. I like the diameter of the 42 mm model (as it seems extremely close to my GMT), but even it was a little taller than I'm used to, and a bit top heavy for me. I got pretty excited when I learned that the blue titanium model was being released in 42mm because I love the blue colour, and figured the titanium would solve my concern with the weight. However I had never actually tried on the 45.5mm titanium version until today. I was pleasantly surprised with the lightness - it felt much better on my wrist than even the steel 42mm. I also slightly prefer the proportions of the 45.5mm given the thickness of the PO.This is by far the biggest watch I own, and it might take a bit of time to get used to the size, but the lightness of the titanium makes it very comfortable for me. Question about Omega Bond 007 Watch
This would be my first premium watch. Let's assume I decide NOT to buy a Rolex Sub and I go with Omega. That being said I am drawn to the Planet Ocean but also like the look of the Seamaster. I've always been a fan of Bond. I can certainly see it being fun to say we wear the same watch! I'm also drawn to the number 007 since my lucky number is seven because I was born 07/07/70 and weighed 7lbs 7 oz. You can see that 7 is important to me.OK on to the actual question.... If I decide to go with the Seamaster, specifically for the Bond model, which one is better?Choice 1: The actual watch worn in the movies, 300M 2220.80.00 with blue face.Choice 2: Limited edition model with 007 hands and 007 on the case with swirl Bond pattern on the face. Model 300M 2226.80.00.I don't plan to sell it in 5 years but you never know. Is the limited 007 model considered gimmicky in the watch underground or is it a special piece? Rolex prices
From a reliable source- there will be no price increase this year. This coupled with the fact that we have an incoming GMT with Jubilee made me think the pre-owned GMT market may correct itself but it seems sellers are only digging in their heels and prices keep climbing on old GMTs. Thoughts?
