Dial damaged during service
Hi!I'm looking for some support and advice in an unpleasant situation. The situation is that I sent my Speedmaster -96 with impeccable tritium dial, not a single scuff on the dial, in for service. Now that I'm about to get the watch back from the service it turns out the watchmaker has not been using a dial protector when removing the hands (he claims that this was due to the hands being pressed to far down by the previous watchmaker for the protector to fit). However, this caused him to damage my dial (and chipping some paint off of the hands) when removing the hands. Now the watchmaker claims that it's not his fault that the dial got damaged etc and blames the previous watchmaker for pressing the hands too far down. The scuffs are not really that noticeable to the naked eye but it's no doubt that my previously 100% perfect original dial is now damaged and will be so. I can understand if I'm being a bit picky but this watch is my most precious belonging.Has anyone experienced anything l
PAM 372 vs 183
Hi All,I'm having a difficult time trying to choose between a PAM 372 and a PAM 183. I am well aware that these are two very different watches and in different price points. I currently own a Rolex Deep Sea and an IWC Portuguese 7 Day (5001). I used to own a PAM 177 (ti) but sold it to fund the purchase of my IWC. Not soon after, I realized I need a Panerai to complete my humble collection.I think the 372 is a beautiful piece but not as versatile as the 183 due to it's size and style. I am not so concerned about the technical aspects of the watches but more on the aesthetics. That said, I would be grateful if you could share your thoughts on this matter.
Cleaning of my Hulk
When you think your watch is clean and nice........until you try this...>Just few cotton swabs and clear water will do the job!Clean and nice at last~~
UK insurance & storage.
As title. Who do you guys go with to cover your insurance requirements. Im not one to keep watches in a bank vault. I like to wear them in the knowledge theyre covered by an insurance with covers, theft & loss . Who do you use ?.Second part of question. Without telling me where you live and where in your house you store them when not in use. Where do you store them?. Is there a good safe for the home ?.
