Affordable Vintage: Cyma WWW
In the early 1940’s, the British Ministry of Defense (MoD) published a set of specifications for a wristwatch design that they wanted to use for their soldiers. The specifications are commonly referred to as WWW, or Watch Wristlet Waterproof. Twelve companies submitted watches that met the criteria: Buren, Cyma, Eterna, Grana, Jaeger LeCoultre, Lemania, Longines, IWC, Omega, Record, Timor and Vertex. These twelve watches together are called the “Dirty Dozen” by military watch collectors. Interestingly, the war ended before these great watches could be issued to soldiers for combat duty.Of the twelve brands, the Cyma is one of most popular for several reasons. Sports - Dress combo
What combo would you get if you want two pateks, one dress and other sports? I am so happy with my 5711 that I am looking to add another Patek to the collection. The 5711 has been an all-rounder so far. Day to day, house work, trips away, everything and it is holding up very well. Looking to add something very different to the nautilus : gold, leather strap, elegant. The 5196 and the 5205 really tick a lot of boxes ... Would love to hear your opinions. Explorer 1 vs. Datejust 41
New member. First postI am a one watch guy and I am looking to purchase and keep for the long haul. 27 year old male, need something I can wear with slacks and a button up but also looks great in a t shirt and jeans. My decision has come down to two. Either the 36mm Datejust with the smooth bezel (silver dial) or the new explorer 1. I personally love them both so I'm asking you guys for help. What do you think and why?
