Review: The Riedenschild Swihanic 2
Swihanic, the under-priced mystery watch, oh how you bewilder. I have been wearing the Riedenschild for few weeks now and it has definitely left an impression. It feels like an expensive watch, it looks like an expensive watch and for the most part, seems to be built like an expensive watch but expensive is the one thing the Swihanic is not. OK, let me qualify that last statement. The Swihanic (still don't know what that means) has many features that just don't belong, as I understand the watch market, on a watch this price, being about $275.? The watch features a sapphire crystal, a well-made deployment-clasp strap (optional), branded crowns and strap details, a decorated Unitas movement, an internal bezel and a unique case design. Sure, "built like an expensive watch" is a terrible generalization, since I am sure it is not built anything like a $5000+ dollar watch, or a $1500 dollar watch for that matter, but it is better than expected, and would beat the crap out of many brands in
15202 v. 15400
I have a very small wrist (6 inches) and the subc is probably the biggest I can go. I've tried on the diver a few times and it hangs off both sides of my wrist. If I wanted to buy a royal oak, would the 15400 work or does it wear significantly bigger than the subc? Is the 15202 the only 39mm royal oak? AP's website indicates that the only 15202 made is the ultra thin with a blue dial. Does AP make a 39mm royal oak thats not ultra thin and has either a black or white dial? What would you all suggest I do if I want to get a royal oak? Also, can the SS royal oak be put into a leather strap like the gold can?
PO 8500 options
I'm very close to buying a Planet Ocean to compliment my Sea-Dweller and my late-60s vintage DeVille. Overall, I prefer the 2500 version with the aluminum bezel, but I don't want to turn my back on the new movement. My question is this: can I buy the orange 8500 in 42mm and then install one of the older 2500 black bezels? Will it fit?

Date just for wife (AD discount?)
Hello everyone,First time poster... after dealing with me for 14 years and having 4 of my children I've decided I want to treat my wife to a nice watch. This is something she would never consider buying for herself or expect it but I know she will be thrilled and she deserves it. I've narrowed it down to a 36mm steel Datejust with a white Roman dial or the 36 Datejust with fluted bezel and diamond dial. I live in Chicago have have visited 2 ADs, one offered me no discount (I didn't push as I didn't like the salesperson) and the other offering 10-11%.I know I can get a better deal on here or grey dealer but I want this to be new so she could exchange if she wants to and she can go to the AD for fitting, sizing, extended warranty, cleaning, buffing, etc... what type of discount should I expect for these models? Im paying cash and both agreed to ship to my business out of state to save on taxes. Thanks in advance for the info!
