Wifey's Bday Gift. Input Please.
Ok. So my wife is turning 40 in a couple of months and I've decided to get her a watch as her gift. I've gotten it down to 2 models. Got some input from her in passing as we window shopped. I'm trying to decide between an AP ROO SS white or a Blancpain Leman model in white. Both have diamonds on the bezel. The AP comes on a rubber strap and the Blancpain comes on either stain or alligator strap. The AP is much more sporty while the Blancpain is a bit more dressy, but sporty enough I think to wear casually. She already has dressy pieces from JLC and Cartier. Here is my dilemma. The Blancpain is an automatic movement and the AP is a Quartz. Is it worth paying this much money for a quartz movement? She likes the idea of a quartz because she doesn't have to adjust the time before wearing it. I just have a hard time getting my head around it. I just wish AP would make this model in an automatic without the chrono. What do you guys think?
AP info
Hello everyone got a few questions, if use would be so kind to answer Think I'm getting a 15710 diver soon and wanted to know where it ranks in the AP line up ? I don't know much about APs if it was Rolex I would know right away the sub is iconic and will always hold its value etc etc. So wanting some more info from use AP guys.Is the 42 diver not as sought after as the 44s ?What is re sale value like are they soft ? Been recommended to look at the 44 ROO but I think 42 is big enough for me and if I'm honest I've just never been a fan of chronograph watches in general.
RG ROO 44mm vs RG RB2
Just curious which of these would you pick? Why?RG ROO 44mmRG RB2
Unexpectedly came across a 116500LN -- INCOMING
I recently purchased a beautiful 5513, but after giving it some time on the wrist, decided it wasn't for me. It's a great piece, but that connection just wasn't there. So I found a local buyer, and while chatting about the deal he mentioned he had a 116500LN that he was looking to sell. He purchased it from an AD in March of 2017 and only wore it a handful of times, so it's in beautiful condition. I wasn't even looking to purchase one -- but we worked out a fair offer for both parties and I never looked back. I figured if it wsn't the right watch, I'd be able to flip it without much trouble.I can't honestly say this is the most beautiful watch I've ever worn. The proportions are absolutely perfect -- this one is a real stunner. I can't imagine ever parting with it.Enough rambling, onto the picture
Bottom Feeder
It is so Great for a Bottom Feeder like me to grab an occasional scrap that comes my way. Some of you folks are in a unique position to buy a Rolex like I would buy a pair of shoes. Thank you so much for sharing your Beautiful Watch purchases with the rest of us. For some of us buying a Rolex is a once in a life time event. So many thanks for your inputs, that help us in our decision makingas we do not have the luxury of buying another if we make a mistake !
