J-B Viot "In Paris" Watch
Real watch maker (who epitomizes watch makers), makes real independent hand-made watch (that epitomizes indy hand-made watches). That is Jean-Baptiste Viot and his "Paris" (In Paris) watch. It is a pretty fantastic creation and I would first like to thank Francois-Xavier Overstake of the French watch blog Equation du Temps for permission to show you these images of the J-B Viot In Paris watch that he took. I believe that by now J-B Viot offers a retail version of the In Paris watch, of course all made by him and highly limited. He has a few interesting philosophies as a watch maker that make him a very practical person. Lug Width 21mm on PO
GreetingsI have purchased a Omega Planet Ocean GMT 232.30.44.22.01.001 and want a new leather and or rubber bracelet with a deployment clasp. But I don't see many 21mm options out there and I believe this has the 21mm lugs. Any recommendations on decent vendors and or model options will be greatly appreciated. BTW this is a Great watch so accurate and durable. I have owned and sold a Rolex DSSD and like this better!John

Would Patek change the dial on my 5205G?
I have just returned my 5205G back to Patek for them to carry out some warranty work. Basically the DAY pusher is sticking in when pushed and so the day doesn't change over, unless you then manually wind the watch past midnight. When that happens the pusher then springs back out.Anyway, back to the question.While the watch is with them at the UK service centre, if asked, do you think they would exchange the darker dial & W/G silver hands for the lighter dial and the darker hands, which I believe are still made from W/G, but somehow treated to make them darker in colour?And if they do any idea what they would charge?Thank you.RegardsTony

Worldwide availability SS sports models
I thought it would be quite interesting to know the worldwide availability of Rolex SS sports models. In some countries like the UK for example you cant even get a Sub 114060 without being a couple of weeks or months in a waiting list. This is crazy For me as Im located in Germany I can say it depends of course on the model you are looking for but you could get if you're lucky a 116710LN or a 116610LN straight from the window, if not it should not take longer than a month to get it.Other lead times from many AD's around my area:Batman: 2-6 monthsHulk: 4-6 monthsSD 126600: 6-12 monthsBlue Sky Dweller: 2-3 yearsSS Daytona: not a chance to get on a listI have the impression in the US and Canada is a bit easier to buy a hard to get SS model depending where you live. Whats your experience? What are the lead times in your area?
