Jaeger-LeCoultre Offers Watchmaking Lessons On Your iPhone
Jaeger-LeCoultre has launched a new iPhone application that aims to share fine watchmaking with the general public. Rather than simply present their collection, the app invites you to look at iconic models from a whole new angle: the perspective of an amateur watchmaker. The application lets you explore the various stages in creating a watch, and a comprehensive horological dictionary compliments the six introductory lessons. The classes enable users to practice watchmaking techniques directly on their iPhone screen: assembling a chronograph mechanism, decorating and jeweling a movement, polishing, engraving and gem-setting a case. For the latter class, the aim is to gem-set a Reverso Neva, making no mistakes and in record time, by skilfully sliding the diamonds onto the watch case. The watch classes are displayed at a rate of one new class every two weeks. There is a contest with a drawing and a lucky learner who answered all of the competition questions will receive a guided tour of
Menage Of Corum Skull Watches For Halloween
Halloween is my favorite childhood holiday for good reason; it attempts to imbue fantasy with reality for at least one day. And it is perfectly legitimate to do so. That is why I have been tempted on so many occasions to spend hundreds on fancy costumes.Likewise, Corum knows how to imbue a healthy amount of fantasy in their watches and make them perfectly legitimate luxury timepieces. Corum has released a number of interesting and high quality watches (many of them limited editions) over the years. For whatever reason, a large number of them have features a skull and other parts of a skeleton. They aren't spooky per se, but they are certainly avant garde and not for everyone. They are certainly for me though, and I love these mostly limited edition watches from Corum. Most of these watches are based on the Corum Bubble watch, with its tall domed sapphire crystals, and rounded shaped. Really, this are nice watches to hold and wear. You might be put off by their unorthodox looks at first,
The Unique Blancpain Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar Wristwatch For The Only Watch Auction
Blancpain has just released a unique piece that they will be contributing to the Only Watch auction coming up in November. This year they will be donating a special and unique version of the Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar wristwatch. 1 OF 2 The watch was exclusively designed for the Only Watch auction. The Chinese Calendar complication, developed in-house, is a tribute to the age-old culture. The dial features the hours, minutes, and the Gregorian calendar alongside the Chinese calendar's major indicators. This includes the traditional double-hour indication, day, month (with leap months), signs of the zodiac, and the five elements and the 10 celestial stems. The combination of the celestial stems with the 12 animals of the zodiac that represent the terrestrial branches follows the 60-year cycle that is pivotal to the Chinese culture. The dial also features a moon-phase, connecting the lunar cycle and traditional Chinese months. 2 OF 2 The 45 mm c
constellation service?
Hello all,Bought my better half a constellation in 2002. She wore it for several years and stopped using once she got an iPhone. Recently she decided to start wearing it. Runs fine and has had at least one battery change. My question is, when should I send this in for servicing. My Rolex goes in every 5-7 years, but am not sure if a battery operated Omega needs one unless it breaks. Thanks in advance for the help.
If someone force me only to keep 2 watches
it could be those.
