watches-dealer Reader Joins Us For Watch Weekend In Los Angeles
Recently, watches-dealer reader Griffin C. from Chicago, Illinois, joined me here in Los Angeles for a few days of geeking-out watchnerd-style and to attend The World's Most Expensive Watches book party with us. This was a result of Griffin winning a giveaway prize early in the year that we had intended to experience with him over the summer. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, the originally planned trip to the watch maker RGM in Pennsylvania was cancelled by RGM, and resulted in a dispute between the company and watches-dealer that the online watch community has discussed a few months ago. Nevertheless, despite the setbacks, I had an obligation to Griffin and wanted to make the most out of the situation.Griffin had never traveled to Los Angeles, and I thought it would be a good idea to bring him to town and give him a great watch experience with people he might not otherwise get to meet. I was fortunate to have him come join me during the right weekend at the Chateau Marmont for
Hands-on with the Detroit Watch Company Aviator
I'd been anticipating the package from Detroit for a couple of months. Watch company? Detroit? At this point, you might think you know what watch company I'm going to write about. But really, this is about the other one. The Detroit Watch Company, who like their juggernaut of a neighbor, assembles in Detroit.I'd studied the Detroit Watch Co. website and seen a few photos of the Aviator, and I was eager to get my hands on the piece in the metal. When it arrived, the Aviator didn't disappoint. It's a bold watch at 44mm, but it's not so big that it's unwieldy or uncomfortable.? And it certainly looks the part of a pilot watch. From the Aviator's sales webpage, here's why."Detroit native and oil millionaire, Edward F. Schlee had a thirst for flying.? In 1927, Schlee purchased a Stinson-Detroiter monoplane and named it, "The Pride of Detroit"."Two months after Charles Lindbergh's historic flight across the Atlantic Ocean, Schlee and pilot Billy Brock embarked upon an ambitious trip to travel

Panerai Radiomir 1940 size vs luminor 44mm
Hi folks, just wondering if any of you have both the radiomir 1940 and the 44mm luminor and can do a pic of the case profile?I love some of the case designs of the 1940 rad but the 47mm just seems like a no go zone to me. My wrist is about 6.4 inches and the standard luminor 44mm fits perfectly. Was looking at a review video on YouTube for 690 and it was stated that lug to lug span of the 1940 rad is 57mm. I took the measurement of my 44mm luminor and surprisingly this lug span is about the same! (Slightly shorter)我從使用 Tapatalk 的 MHA-L29 發送
Decision time! Help needed!
Hi All,I am in the process of purchasing my first house, therefore I need to liquidate some money to help and have decided to sell my two Rolex's, my 116520 Daytona and 16610 Sub.In doing so I need to replace both watches with one... here lies my problem. To give you some background info, I have had in the past, a 116233 and 116610LV along side these current two watches.I am torn between the following (baring in mind this will now be my only watch in collection for the next couple of years minimum):116613LB116710BLNR116622 Rhodium DialI love all of them for different reasons but am torn between them. Also something to mention; I would have to pay over list for the BLNR but under for both the others. Your help and advice is greatly appreciated!C.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
