Baume & Mercier Add New Models To Its William Baume Editions: The Retrograde, Ultraflat, And Tourbillon Watches
At Baume et Mercier (aka Baume & Mercier), the William Baume name has always applied to very classic simple watches. If you want a handsome and timeless Swiss watch that won't utterly devastate your bank account, the William Baume collection is usually a good place to look. Now, getting a bit more serious with the line, Baume et Mercier takes an interesting new direction that is almost Teutonic in design. The William Baume Retrograde, Ultraflat, and Tourbillon have a decidedly retro appeal to them from design of the lugs to the classic guilloche machine work on the dial. Each of the watches comes in a limited edition of only 178 pieces each, but the Tourbillon is limited to only 10 pieces. While there are three new models, they each share a lot of the same design cues. The cases are very compact looking, especially with the Ultraflat, and are in rose gold. Case width is also comparable at 41mm. There is lug designs which are worth noting as well. The look is very 1960s. I would say

Anyone else develop a crack on their Sub C pip?
So about 6 weeks into ownership of my first new ad purchased sub c, I noticed that the pip (bezel lume dot) has a crack?!?! This watch isn't babied but I do work in an office and so it's not seen any abuse at all. Sent to RSC Dallas this week so I'll report back with findings. I wouldn't have sent it but was sending another watch for service anyway so decided to see what happens. Anyone else had this happen???
The Kermit.. I want one , not sure why.
I have a two tone blue sub. Bought new. I never wear it. It attracts a bit much attention. Can anyone help me decide between a black bezel sub or the Kermit. I don’t care for the hulk. I saw an LV Kermit locally but passed on it. I shouldn’t have. Anyway, I welcome thoughts from Kermit owners. I might sell the blue sub outright in 10years. I’ll certainly make my money back and then some. I’m not sure why I like the Kermit. Is this anyone’s daily watch? Just asking thoughts. It’s subtle, different, durable, and flies under the radar. When I wear the bluesy sub, people look at it. It makes me uncomfortable because I keep thinking I’ll get robbed, plus I’m just not into vanity. What can I expect to pay, I wonder. The pre owned one I saw was 9200$ which I thought was insanely high. It had a few scratches , but it is before Xmas and it seems people have lost their minds paying 11k for Batman gmts. Reportedly..I find the Kermit beautiful . Real
