HourTime Show Watch Podcast Episode 167: Should You Pay Attention To Watch Auctions?
What do you know! As different as John and I are, the last watches we each bought were the same. We are now (once again) Omega brothers, each rocking a Speedmaster Mk II. We discuss the interesting world of watch auctions and try to dispel some of the myth and magic that can get in the way of a good experience. We also discuss the rather odd Ralf Tech "Torpedo" and an Artya watch with real tobacco inside.Listen to the HourTime Watch Podcast episode 167 here. Direct MP3 download here.
Batman The Dark Knight Rises Limited Edition Jaeger-LeCoultre Watch
For many people, today July 20th, 2012 is another "Batman" day as the latest movie hits theaters. The third Chris Nolan Batman movie opens and brands are eager to capitalize on Bat-fever. In the The Dark Knight Rises Bruce Wayne (played by Christian Bale) wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Grande Date. I look forward to seeing if that is a noticeable detail. As a purchasable homage to the movie, Jaeger-LeCoultre has released a limited edition version of the Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 watch (read more about the base watch here). On the rear of the flippable case is an engraved and lacquered Batman logo as is used specifically in The Dark Knight Rises movie. Submariner Chromalight Lume question
Hi all,I managed to acquire my first Submariner this week from a Rolex AD in Essex. I'm pretty stoked with it as I've wanted a Sub for as long as I can remember. For reference I've purchased a Submariner with date in Black Model 116610LN in Stainless steel.I've noticed something though which I'm not sure is normal or not, so I thought Id'd ask here. When I look at the watch in the dark - after having given it some photons from a torch - I can see the blue Chroma light markers in action. They are bright for a depressingly short period then drop in output to very low. I know this is quite normal. My issue is that after having charged the markers I can clearly see that all are at the same level of brightness apart from the small dot on the second hand. The second hand marker is noticeable not quite as bright as ALL other chroma light markers on the watch. Is this normal?I know it seems like a monumentally trivial issue but I thought I'd ask anyway to see if others have the same issue? I'm ex
