On The Block: Three MB&F Horological Machines At Sotheby's Hong Kong
Auction season is upon us and starting off the year with a bang is the upcoming Sotheby’s Hong Kong sale on October 6th. This year the auction features a variety of watches from modern to vintage (including this awesome Patek Philippe reference 2523 that we released here). But one noticeable change is happening in the selection of modern timepieces at auction – a name we here at HODINKEE are happy to see is MB&F. As one of the foremost pioneers of innovation in timepieces, MB&F is a refreshing addition to the auction world, and have been performing very well in the past couple of years. Here are the three major pieces coming up at Sotheby's in Hong Kong. Lot 2332 C MB&F HM3 Starcrusier 1 OF 3 Lot 2332 This watch, the HM3 (or No. 3), is one of the most recognizable MB&F models. This piece comes in many variations, but this particular one is the Starcruiser made in titanium and white gold. It is automatic with a three dimensional

Speedmaster 3572.50 rarity/value/desirability question
Greetings...I am new to the forum and typically a Rolex guy but I do love the Omega Speedmaster and its lore and history. I at one time owned a 3573.50 sapphire sandwich and sold it to my father after a year or so I got the itch for another. I stumbled across what I thought was another 3573.50 and when I received it the watch had a hesalite crystal with sapphire museum back and different wording on the caseback but with the same two push button clasp as the 3573.50. In my research I discovered it was a short run 3572.50 and Omega confirmed it as a 2001 distribution/manufacture date. It came with a black Omega box and instruction booklet. Now to my questions...What was the actual run of this watch in years? On some forum discussion I stumbled across members who were discussing the rarity and increased desirability of this version due to this combination and short run. Does anyone here feel this way about this watch?I contemplated flipping it now to help fund another Rolex I'm after and t
New Rolex in the family
Greetings all:My last post was back in November about my Rolex Sub dating which I wasn't happy with, but, all that aside, I gave that watch away at Christmas to my step-son after the Texas AD gave it a serious overhaul. Back in January I was cruising a local estate sale when I bought a Ladies Rolex for $2500. Took it to the Denver AD and gave them $850 to have it overhauled.Happy wife is a happy life! This morning she got to wondering what its value might be? We looked at other ladies watches while at Williams (the AD) and they seem to be in the $5K+ range. Here's the details: Ladies rolex nondate with jubilee bracelet and clear stone markers yellow fluted bezel. Mod 76193 ser# Y504048 made in the fall of 2002.Anyone suggest a good value so my ladywife will be happy? Thanks
