Watch Experts Network: ‘Tissot C 2015 Line-up’
When someone is getting himself into nice watches and wants to make the first real Swiss made watch purchase, the is a big chance that Tissot is one of those brands he or she will come across. We sat down with Tissot in Basel and I have to say that we have not been let down by them.My own very first Swiss made watch was none other than a Tissot PRC 200 chronograph, which I bought back in 2007. I loved the black dial with the yellow chronograph hands; the size was just perfect or my 7.5 wrist too. It came on a bracelet, which I later changed to a Hirsch Golfer starting some kind of a trend among WatchUseek's Tissot forum members who had the same watch and were looking for a strap alternative. I still have the watch to this day and it still looks very cool and classic at the same time. However this article is not about my sentimental watch purchase stories but about the 2015 Tissot novelties we had the pleasure of seeing in the awesome red booth of Tissot a few months ago.Tissot is a so

5970P v 5270P (yet to be announced...)
So as some of you know through private pm or personally knowing me I sold my 5970G and 'upgraded' to a 5970P. Being that I've given up on finding a J 5970 and have no interested in a 5970R what are your thoughts of trying to acquire a 5270P in addition to the 5970P once it's announced? I'm hoping the new 5270P will have the exact same dial as the 5271P we saw at basel this year. My plan was originally to save for a 5004P black baton over a few years but I'm sort of on this kick of wanting to have some of the new technically superior in house movements patek is making. Though I love that new black 5204P I can't get over the upside moonphase....I know I know it's a small thing but it really does bother me (same reason I just can't get one of those gorgeous 5396G tiffany's with the breguet numerals)...I love astronomy and I'm sorry but the moon and stars are in the sky....not on the ground. Anywho, yeah my goal was to save save save for a 5004P....but that is an older movement (basically
Calatrava - Robust Enough For Everyday Use?
Hello,I'm looking to get back into a Patek after a ten year absence. I once had a beautiful 60's Calatrava that I loved but it had seen some humidity over the years and it needed some significant work which was beyond my budget so I regretfully sold it. I now find myself in a position to once again consider getting another Patek and I am trying to decide which model to pursue. I originally was thinking about an Aquanaut but I keep seeing Calatravas that I really like. I am wondering if a more modern Calatrava would be robust enough to wear daily. I do walk to work and I have a seven year old son so sweat and the odd knock are going to happen. I currently wear a 70's Rolex Datejust most days and as much as I like it I would expect that if I bought another Patek I would want to wear it almost everyday.Do you guys think that a Calatrava would be up to the job?
