Muhle Glashutte M 29 Classic Small Second Watch
Ready for some new "Glashutte crack?" That is the term I just came up with to describe a fresh, difficult-to-resist, German tool watch from Glashutte. This one is from Muhle Glashutte is the new Small Second version of their popular M 29 Classic watch. Inspired by a historic Robert Muhle instrument, the M 29 Classic is really just that, an instrumental-inspired wrist watch that is elegant, yet satisfies your utility hunger. When looking for something simple, clean, and Germanic, I have to say that I am much more drawn to designs such as this than say, the popular Bauhaus look that people look for at Nomos. The neighborhood competitors make a fine watch, but it is difficult to beat the sheer functional DNA that a piece like the M 29 Small Second watch has. I don't even think pieces were ready by the time these pictures were released. Look closely and it appears that someone took an image of the standard M 29 with a central seconds hand and digitally changed it to make space for the subsi
crazy 5711 prices
can i just say that 5711 prices are crazy now??i bought mine 2 months old in 2013 for SGD $30,500 from someone who regretted the purchase (i think he paid $35,000 originally).the other day i saw one in the second hand watch store going at SGD$46,500 and its a 2012 model.meanwhile i'm telling all my friends to get one because they can probably wear it for free should they decide to sell it sometime down the road.
028 or 026?
I have a 028 but am thinking of making an exchange for a 026, knowing that I have a 233 and 82, what do you think would be better to complete the collection? Knowing that it's watches that I intend to wear, I haven't worn the 028 yet but feel the need to wear a third Pam.The 028 is more original, being a limited edition of the earlier model 28A and 28B, the 3 have a few differences. The 26 and 28 are both DLC, the first hand wound and the second auto.Of course the 26 is basically the same watch as my 82, just black and destro, but seems to me to be more in the Panerai classic DNA style.I put the 2 photos but am not sure they will be visible, if not here are the 2 links to the pages on the Panerai site for these 2 models. The original strap for each are not great but with a brown leather strap or the OEM rubber strap the 28 looks better..panerai/en/special-ed...serve-pam00028.panerai/en/special-ed...anded-pam00026Thanks for your advicePAM028_FRONT.jpgPAM026_front.jpg
Can't Decide What to Buy... Explorer, Datejust, GMT, Sub
I do not intend this to be another what should I buy thread. People end up buying what they like no matter the input of others. This is more my attempt to put my thoughts on paper so that maybe this will help others as they are searching as well. If you think I am missing something please feel free to chime in. I do hope this creates some discussion! This will be my one watch so I have some requirements: I want to wear it with everything-- from shorts and t-shirt to a suit. Still deciding if the sporty or dressy models will work best. Special, timeless design with round case and not overly busy. Heirloom-worthy for my son I do not want it to overpower my smallish wrist (see wrist shots) Flair, but not overly flashy At least 100m water resistance I prefer a date complication just for practicality sake, but not a must-have (hence my love for the 214270)My background: I am 30 years old and I wear a suit to work Mon-Thurs
New member seeking advice on first purchase
New member here and although I'm not a Rolex owner yet I'm looking to make my first purchase but of course it happens to be one of most popular watches Rolex makes. The GMT BLNR.I wish to make my first purchase from an AD and recently visited my local dealer here in the San Francisco Bay Area and although treated very well, he advised that he has a waiting list of 7 people for this watch which of course didn't surprise me. Because they only receive a few of these a year it looks like it'll be difficult to come by. Although I know it'll take time to find one, are there any suggestions as to the best way to ultimately get one with an AD? I thought about asking my AD to add me to his waiting list in the hope's that a few on the list my have found a watch elsewhere. Is it suggested that I visit several AD's here in the Bay Area and get on several different lists or is that frowned upon? As a side note, I have a previously scheduled vacation next month to Europe which includes Paris, Zurich
