Watches NEWS
After 13 year break I have returned to AP
Hi all,So after my first AP Royal Oak which I purchased in 2003, and sold within 6 months because at the time I felt it was too easily scratched/damaged, recently I decided that as I was few years older I could buy into the AP brand and take better care of the watch. After owning a couple of Rolexes (ss Daytona and GMT), a couple of Panerais and a VC overseas chrono (the only watch I still own and the best of the bunch), I have decided to buy an AP Offshore Steel Rubber Clad as my daily wearer.I have been looking for the last few months and have been undecided between a 39mm ROC city of sails, a 41mm steel ROC, a Navy themes and a Rubberclad. In the end I went for the Rubberclad and I managed to get a great condition watch with just few bruises and marks on the bezel and perfect elsewhere, it was also my cheapest option so left me some space for servicing costs etc. Had -5 sec/day and 310 amplitude on the timing machine which was a good sign that it was well looked after, and after a f
Royal Oak Book
Hi, does anyone know if the Bal Harbour boutique has the Royal Oak book in stock at the moment or does it need to be ordered? I'm going on holiday to Miami soon and hoping to pick a copy up. Thank you.
Seamaster PO chrono or non chrono
It's almost Christmas and I'm on a big dilemma. I have a big wrist and I have been going over the decision to get a PO big size. I can't decide if I am getting the chrono or non chrono PO. Another option is Co Axial Speedmaster coz the SM Pro is quite small for my 7.5 wrist. Hope I can get help in deciding and some feedback would be great.
I was never really into leather...
...'till I discovered Panerai......and now I only buy stuff that goes with my Panerai straps... Speaking of leather, I never thought I'd buy OEM; not that OP doesn't have some very nice straps on offer, but there are many excellent custom strap makers out there to keep me more than satisfied. However, when I saw the black calf vintage for the first time (I think it was the 508), I had to have it (or something very close to it). I inquired by my favorite strap makers and one even sourced this type of cracked texture, but the third-party leather had more cracks than leather (I'd call it super-distressed). It also happened to be my birthday and so I gave my GF a hint... click-the-pics for hi-res goodness
Another 116500LN on Oysterflex!
Hi everyone,Like most people, I fell absolutely head over hells in love with the new WG Daytona on Oysterfled 116519. However, I not only already owned a SS 116500LN but I also prefer having a bracelet most of the time.I then came across Chadridv's excellent post of his 116500LN with an Oysterflex he had sourced from his AD and I got really excited! I do have a good relationship with my AD but Chad's words had me doubtful: Quote:
