NYC Service
My father-in-law recently gave me this:He purchased it new sometime in the 1960's. He did say at one point he dropped it about one story onto a sidewalk and had to replace the crystal. Unfortunately he also replaced the original bracelet and has never been serviced.I'd like to take into the NYC Omega store and have them service it and also replace the crystal with OEM, if possible? Any idea on the cost for this?Thanks!dr
How much sport is too much?
So far I didn't wear any watches worth mentioning, and I didn't give a thought about how to make them last. If they broke I just retired them.Now that I bought a Seamaster, and service costs around $400 I'd rather stay away from chopping wood.How much activity can a Seamaster take? Can I without problems do every kind of sport with it such as tennis and running, or should I rather get a dispensable watch for that?
Texas Service
I live in Texas and need to get service for an older SMP (it gains about 2 minutes a day). Anyone have recommendations for service? I see that there is an official servicer in Dallas listed in the sticky/Omega site. Given the varied responses in past threads regarding service quality, I was wondering if anyone had specific experiences they could share about this servicer or others.

I apologize if this is in the wrong place but I didn't see another likely place for this. Are there black hands available for a 16233-3135 circa 1990 (as far as I can tell) Datejust.Bear with me bit and I'll explain why. I bought my first Rolex new in the late 70s. I was somewhat on a budget and one of the less ostentatious models caught my eye. The watch was a stainless/gold with stainless/gold jubilee band with gold crown on the clasp. It had a fluted bezel and a white face with painted black Roman numerals, and as I recall, black hands. Based on when I bought it I think it was a 16013. I came to love that watch. It was simple and elegant. (Apparently Rolex never offered that dial/hand combo again, at least as far as I can tell. If I'm wrong, please tell me.)Unfortunately the watch disappeared between my jeweler and the Dallas service center in the mid-80s.
