Only Watch Preview at Tourneau NY September 10-12
Watch collectors and aficionados will have an opportunity to preview the 34 one-of-a-kind timepieces being offered at Only Watch 2009 during an exhibition at the Tourneau Time Machine in New York September 10-12. Only Watch is a biannual auction held during the Monaco Yacht Show under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II. The world’s leading watch brands donate unique and first-in-a-series “Only Watches”, and the timepieces are auctioned by Patrizzi & Co. with all proceeds going to support research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a childhood disease. The auction will be held September 24 in Monaco. Any love for the 5396-R?
I'm in dire need of a dress watch. But I want something that can also be dressed down. I also think I'm ready to start swimming up stream with my collection. I have a few milestones coming up over the next few years and i think I'd like to add a Patek sports watch and a dress watch to celebrate. Ive been looking at the 5396-R with the white dial and breguet numerals and it looks stunning. My local AD doesn't have one to try on but said they've ordered one and should maybe be here this summer by the latest. So I was just wondering with the TRF community thinks of this annual calendar? First Patek - 5167 now or wait for 5712?
I have the Patek itch and it needs to be scratched badly. If I were to own one and only one Patek, I have concluded that it would be the 5712. I love the asymmetrical dial, movement and complications on that model. However, I am unable to find an AD in Canada that is even willing to put my name on the waitlist, and at the moment, it is somewhat of out of my budget after two new pieces in the last 2 months.At first, I was not a huge fan of the 5167. It has slowly grown on me, and I've always considered adding one to the stable - but much to my dismay, it seems 5167 prices are also creeping upwards likely due to the tulip mania around the 5711.I've been offered a 5167 at an attractive price and I'm super tempted. I'm thinking of adding the 5167 now, which will hold me over until I can get a 5712 (at which point I can decide to flip the 5167 for the 5712, or something else in my collection.) Is this wise, or should I just wait for the 5712?
