AP RO Series A registry - any interest?
Greetings,The initial run Audemars Royal Oak Series A; most know of it, some collect them, fewer have compiled detailed information. There is no public listing or registery of what survived, prices recently paid and condition that I am aware of. Any interest in compiling this info?
This arrived ....
a couple of days ago from my man DavidSW.Brand new ... Finally found time to size the strap....thanks for the tips on that guys...How sweet it is!
ETA PR not consistent
My PAM Base ETA 6497 has been losing time on the Power Reserve. Let me explain myself. When I first purchased it I would get around 66 hours on a full wind. By full wind, I mean turning the crown until a point where it no longer winds and without forcing any further.I've been doing this test once again for a few times and would get different results each time. 1st try: 66 hours2nd try: ~63.5 hours3rd try: ~61.7 hoursI cannot find an answer as to why I would be getting back different PR even with a full wind.I know that these are way over the stated 48 hours, but I am just curious as to know why these figures would not be consistent. Thanks
Which ones to keep?
I have been mostly a lurker on these forums and have accumulated a decent collection of PAMs. I am looking to diversify my watch collection as it is very PAM heavy now. I have a 292 and 359 that I wear in rotation which I don't plan to sell. I also have 372, 390, 417, 448, and 587 that I haven't worn and just sitting in the safe.My rationale is that I will keep two of the 47MM which will be 587 and 372 and the two that I have in rotation. In this option, I will sell the 390, 417 and 448. 292 is my first PAM and holds some value to me. 359 I just really love the look and wear it often. The reason I am finally posting is I would like to hear your thought process on what you will likely keep and why. Perhaps there may be a reason that I am not thinking of. I was a die hard PAM fan but interest has been waning a bit. Thanks in advance for the discussion.
Daytona 116509 Arabic
This watch has always been one of my grail's but the white gold makes it super expensive. I currently have a BLNR and a DJII, i've also been looking at picking up a Hulk if i can ever find one not at grey market prices. I don't know very much about the Daytona since it's from around 2006. I love the red accents on the face but i'm not sure I want to blow that much money. My question is, how do people think the value on the precious metals will be in the future. It looks like you can go used for $20-23k while new is $28-30k. Also, are there any things I need to be aware from this era of Daytona?
