Patek Nautilus Rose Gold Try Outs - My thoughts
I own a 5205R and has been itching to get a 2nd PP. Nautilus comes highly recommended. One classic and one Nautilus sporty watch. Makes a great pair. For a while, I had my mind set on the 5980R especially after an encounter at the Geneva Patek Salon. But there is a big stumbling block, ie my bank account. I balk at the price... it just feels too much. So why not get a 5712R? It slimmer, has a to me more attractive micro-rotor movement and is also a RG Nautilus and much more affordable. Besides, pics from our fellow poster Jorge makes the watch so enticing. So I set out to hunt for the 5712R. It's quite rare in my part of the world. Any available stocks are usually quickly snatched up although ADs can get allocation without prolong waiting. Finally, I heard from my local AD that they just got one piece in and it is not reserved and is available for purchase. So I made my way down to my local AD. I had a 312 for awhile and it lost its wrist time after getting into Rolex. I sold it and purchased a DSSD with the funds. I've been casually visiting this sub forum the last few weeks and starting to get that itch again. Over the weekend I was out shopping with my wife and visited a watchmaker/used dealer I've used in the past that was in the area. I tried on a preowned 233 w/ dot dial and a 270. I really really dig the look of the domed crystal. Now I see why so many covet the 233. Anyways the owner said if I was serious we can work something out on the 233. The last month or so I've been obsessing over an AP RO and thought about getting one for my 40th bday. Getting the 233 would derail that a bit, but looking at preowned or even BNIB from trusted sellers, it looks like AP RO can be had when ready (except the blue dialed non-jumbo ones).Well don't want this to be a PAM vs AP thread, as they are apples vs oranges. Luminor 1950 Cases
Now I have in my hands the Panerai catalog and all models are very cute.But I have a question, the Luminor 1950 cases are all the same? For example in the catalog would seem to me that the 537 has a more square case than the 321. This seems more round to me. It is an optical illusion or are they really different?My favorites are the 312 and 351. For my taste would have preferred these models with manual winding but Panerai only manufactures these models automatics.Have a nice sunday guys.

Submariner vs GMT BLNR
Buying in the next few days. My AD surprisingly has a BLNR in stock and getting the submariner I ordered a few days later. I'm leaning toward the sub because of the glide lock. But also curious how the GMT stacks up with water. Is has the trip lock crown? What pressure is it rated to? What other thoughts do you guys have? Any info appreciated.
