Alpina Alpiner Chronograph Automatic 41.5 Review
It's been a while since we last had an Alpina watch in for review, and much has changed at the brand since. Our previous encounter was with the Alpina Startimer Pilot Manufacture. I liked just about everything about it, especially the manufacture movement within and modest price tag, but had one gripe it just didn't feel like an original design. For everything it had going for, this one aspect just kind of undermined it. It seemed odd to me that brand with manufacture capabilities as well as a rich history and archive, would make something derivative.Well, they seemed to have caught on as at the last two Basels they've begun to push their new Alpiner line, which draws inspiration from within. There are now many models within this series, such as their modern 4-line, which utilize their in-house GMT complication as well as in-house Flyback chronograph, and their vintage inspired models. It's the latter we'll be taking a look at today with the somewhat dryly titled Alpina Alpiner Chrono
New steel bracelet...
LOVING my new Diver - I'm thinking I may want to get a steel bracelet to switch out with the rubber strap from time to time...any suggestions on where / how one could be acquired? I'd like to get a hold of a new 2015 bracelet...Thanks guys!!!
Breitling Bentley Clasp
I noticed theres a differnce on the old clasp an new one. When did the new clasp come out (Breitling made for Bentley)? I think the old ones just say only Breitling. I had a dealer tell me the watch I wanted to buy was brand new but I noticed the clasp only said Breitling so I think he tried to pull a fast one on me Any experts here?
Have you seen the new Aqua Terra?
This is rapidly becoming my favourite Omega. Great looking watch - very similar in look to the Datejust, but just a fraction bigger - and has one of the nicest finished movements inside it I've ever seen. They're using a very similar movement to the one found in the De Ville Hour Vision, and has their Si14 balance spring in. Very nice watch, very well made, and quite a lot cheaper than a Datejust: £2600 compared to the £3300 of an entry level DJ.
Third time is a charm
Just got a new PP 3 days ago. DavidSW was kind enough to get me the new one I wanted in a few weeks. I like it more than the world time or 5711, both awesome watches, which lasted only days. The moon phase is useful as it helps with the Islamic calendar months which are lunar too. Enjoying this and thanks for all the good reading and others opinions. Regards.
