Quartz Patek Philippe And More Watch Lots In April 15th Fellows Auction
Sponsored PostThe catalogue for Fellows' 15th April Vintage & Modern Wrist Watches Auction is now available to view online, presenting the usual eclectic mix of watches with something for every budget. That said; collectors looking for something special not will be disappointed. Below we highlight one contemporary watch for men, one for ladies and a vintage gem.The association of watch brands with motorsport can have a numbers of driving factors (if you pardon the pun). This may be a historical connection where drivers have used the company's product as tools of the trade or it may me a more blatant attempt to push brand profile, with any connection having its origin in the marketing department's imagination rather than in the pit lane or on a driver's wrist. With Chopard, you have to include personal passion as a major reason for the link.Co-President of Chopard, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele's likens the appreciation of classic automobiles with that of fine mechanical watches. Introducing The Bremont Wright Flyer, A Limited Edition Containing A Fragment Of The World's First Airplane
Bremont has created some pretty special limited editions in the past, including the Codebreaker (containing material from Bletchley Park) and the HMS Victory (with oak and copper from the eponymous warship). Today Bremont unveils what might be the most ambitious watch they've produced to day, the Bremont Wright Flyer. Not only does the watch contain (according to Bremont) the company's brand new proprietary movement, but it also contains an actual piece of muslin from the wing of the Wright Flyer, the world's very first airplane. Seriously.?Honestly, Bremont is the only watchmaker that could pull off something like this. As if launching its very first in-house movement wasn't enough, it has to put a piece of the world's first airplane in the watch for good measure. It's hard not to get excited about this piece, so let's dig in. 2 OF 18 via wikipedia.org The namesake aircraft, the Wright Flyer, made the world's first powered flight in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, in De

USA Duty Import Question - 1st AP
I've got the cross listed in the Patek forum as I'm working on a Patek purchase as well...I've been working with an AD in the EU on purchasing my first AP and am trying to figure out what the duty would be when sending to the US where I reside. I've read conflicting percentages on different threads in this forum and want to be sure because the difference could be in the thousands.I've used the duty import calculator online that Pitney Bowes has and have come up with two different numbers between the AD and I. The calculator is confusing if you're unfamiliar. His number is quite different from mine and it almost makes the purchase not worth it, however, the number I used makes it worthwhile with the FX and VAT back. Does anyone have any experience in shipping a watch to the US? Any advice is appreciated.
