First AP. RO 4100st
Thought I might say hello with a new-to-me Royal Oak. The 36mm 4100st, and from my birth year... Engraved on the case back from a September 1981 visit to Brassus. I think it wears well on my small wrists. CheersTaylor

5712
Hi all,As some know I sold my 5712 because I needed some money to make a great investment, but God I miss it, I thought that one day when I can I might add money and flip my AP to get a RM, 035-01 probably, but I realize that no I MUST get a 5712 some day, it's just the most awesome everyday watch for me, so no regrets having sold it, it was for a very goo purpose, but getting one back is mandatory and I won't get any new watch before I got it back, don't intend to flip my AP either, I love it and want to be like I was before, the AP and the PP, and if on top of that I can one day add the RM I will be the happiest guy in the world, in the foreseeable future I will probably have the funds for the watch sector in about 1 year, there are still great investments to be made and I consider investing in things that will give me a comfortable retirement more important than having my PP back at the moment, as long as I have at least 1 cool watch I'm ok with that, but to be honest when I see a 5
14060 questions
Hello everyone,I have been a long time watch collector, but I am somewhat of a newbie when Rolexes are concerned. I have an opportunity to buy a somewhat unusual 14060 locally, and was wondering what your opinion is.- U85X.xx serial- 2 liner- Luminova indices and hands, yet the dial is T marked- fat four bezel insert- drilled lugsPictures here:https://postimg.org/gallery/2os1bun3k/What do you guys think? Is this a model that was ever produced by Rolex, or is it a combination of different parts?Price seems attractive ($4.6K for head only). Do you think it's worth it, or should I look for a more standard version? Also, I am not too concerned about authenticity since the guy is local and I have dealt with him before, but being a head-only (no box, papers or bracelet) offer, I don't mind your opinions on authenticity as well (he could be 100% honest but got fooled by someone else, for example). Thanks a bunch for your help!
Rolex base plate material question
Hi all,Do solid gold Rolex watches have solid gold base plates and platinum ones have platinum base plate? I am asking for 116508 Daytona in particular. Thanks so much,Tim
