Zenith Honors Watchmaker’s Milestones With Limited Edition Watch
On November 30, Zenith celebrated a famous caliber and the 100th birthday of the watchmaker who created it. Ephrem Jobin was the brains and hands behind Caliber 135. Introduced in 1948 at the height of a battle to achieve increased precision fought among several watch manufacturers, Caliber 135 included several innovative technical features that enabled it to win numerous prestigious awards and prizes, including an unprecedented 5 consecutive Neuchatel Observatory chronometry prizes from 1950 to 1954. In all, the movement garnered about 200 honors, two-thirds of which were first prizes. Ephrem Jobin with Zenith CEO Jean-Frdric Dufour and Zenith watchmakersBorn in 1909 and likely the world’s oldest living watchmaker, Ephrem Jobin played a variety of roles in Zenith’s development. During his tenure from 1939 to 1954, he developed three complete calibers, including the 135. In 1946 he was commissioned to invent a 30mm caliber capable of meeting the requirements for the Neuch
Maurice de Mauriac Summer 2011 Chronograph Modern Watches
Here is a little watch porn for you in the form of two new Maurice de Mauriac Chronograph Modern watch styles. I have covered the Chronograph Modern watches before but Maurice de Mauriac keeps coming out with upgrades and new styles. The first one here is a version of the Le Mans 53 in black with a case fitted alligator strap - really slick. Next is a stealthier version of the Chronograph Modern with a blue chronograph seconds hand and a cool new woven leather strap - much as was done by Bedat & Co.The Chronograph Modern models come in a variety of styles and sizes that are 39, 42, or 45mm wide. Part of the point of getting a Maurice de Mauriac watch is the customization involved and, ideally, you visit them in Z??rich to do so. Prices for these models are 3,650 Swiss Francs for the Le Mans version and 3,950 Swiss Francs for the version with the woven leather strap.
Panda for Bee.......would you ??
I have a Panda and a Diver....but have had my eye on a Bee for a LONG time. I wear my diver on bracelet as my daily wearer and was thinking about moving the Panda to enable a Bee purchase, but am not sure about how much I would miss it.I know there are a number of members here with both pieces and would love to hear opinions. The other options is to move the diver and another piece from the stable (say an IWC Big Pilot and cash to me) and keep the Panda along with the Bee...but that would seems like giving up a lot of versatility. Please talk me into or out of this insanity !!!!!!!!!!!! TIA
2011 Pricelist
Does anyone have a .pdf? I am looking for a Diver Pro II for my Colt Ocean (18mm lugs) and I just wanted to know what the MSRP is.Thanks!
At AD today
Stopped in my AD to look at the Air King. I did buy my Sub there within the last 2 weeks at 7% off.He still had a good selection but told me to wait as he's starting to get low and could discount when he's replenished . They did have Subs a Deep Sea, BLRO and Bluesey. I guess I'll wait, it's not like I have to have it today.Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
