Tissot T-Race Watch Winner Follow-Up
You guys love asking us who the winner of the watch giveaways are. We have a really simple policy on that - basically the winners are kept private, but asked to submit follow-up images of their new watches with thoughts. If they don't, I prefer to maintain their privacy. Seriously, aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer get's a number of e-mails and Facebook comments asking about "who is the winner of so and so giveaway." I am happy there is such enthusiasm. Anyhow, the winner of last month's Tissot T-Race watch giveaway was nice enough to send a picture and some thoughts. Congrats to Scott C. of Arizona:"Got the watch this afternoon, pics above. I'm off to my watch guy to have the band trimmed? (could probably do it myself but don't want to mess it up).? Initial impressionvery comfortable.? The rose gold is a great look. Quality seems pretty goodno, not the level of my Breitling, AP or Rolexes or JLC I have owned, but very nice detail on the watch, clasp and crown mechanism not as crisp as high-

In praise of a "Beater" Seamaster 2225.80
I wonder if I'm alone in my thinking, but as I've gotten deeper and deeper into horology, I wonder if I have been too caught up in the thinking of only iconic watches with in-house or excellent movements. I've acquired a Panerai 121 with an El Primero movement, Bretiling Navitimer 01 LE, Speedmaster 9300, and AP Royal Oak 25860 Chronograph. I love these watches and enjoy wearing them. But I needed a watch that I could wear around the house, traveling, or in the pool/water without worrying. So my thoughts turn to a cheaper, durable, water resistant chronograph (I'm a chronograph-only nut) and I eventually bought a blue dialed Seamaster 2225.80 as my beater. So the first thing I noticed when I got it is that it was really a great-looking watch. The blue dial, red accents and overall looks/proportions look tailor made for my wrist. The wave pattern reminds me a bit of my AP which can look slightly different in different lighting. Yes it's a thick watch, but my Speedy and PAM have me condi
Omega Cons quartz chrono d/d
I have a Constellation quartz day/date chronometer (this has a larger case than the non-chrono). This is the watch with the day and date displayed by 2 circular dials within the main dial. I can't get the day and date both in phase. If I get the date to switch over at midnight, the day is 180 degrees out of phase. In fact, with the date changing at noon, the day changes at about 7 pm. Is there a quick-set feature for the day that I am missing? On the first stop of the crown, the date changes when rotating the crown cc, but the opposite direction of rotation does nothing.
Daytona bezel
In how many colors are available the ceramic bezel of the Daytona 116520 manufactured? Only black and bright chrome? Do you think it will have better resale value than the 116500? By the way the 116500 stopped manufacturing? Thanks guys.
