IWC Watches @ SIHH 2010
Here is a little bit of nice watch porn courtesy of my camera and IWC (don't get upset for me using such language IWC, it is OK for a man to get horologically aroused). There is a watch in here for everyone. New for 2010 watches that are missing however, is the new IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph watch that I discussed separately here. I will also have an upcoming separate article on the new Da Vinci Ceramic Chronograph watch (most likely). Like all good arousing materials these day, I am going to keep the text to a minimum here. Allow these following watches to serve as some good flesh and blood examples of pieces you are interested in and perhaps haven't got a chance to play with yourself. Piaget Creates Rare Beautiful Skeletonized Thin Mechanical Watch In The Altiplano Squelette
Skeletonized watches are popular right now, and named for the view (complete or partial) of the watch movement in the dial. Some skeletonized watches provide glimpses all the way through the watch, while others provide mere hints of the gears and mechanism which together power the watch. The reason skeletonized watches are popular is because they offer mechanical credibility. No one needs a mechanical watch, but its nice to know that your timepiece is a sophisticated piece of machinery, and there is no better way to show that than by actually showing you such machinery. The problem with many skeletonized watches is that they are limited by the actual mechanics of the watch. Meaning that gears, springs, and bridges must often be located in specific places to work. You cannot simply arrange them in an aesthetic manner all the time. Designers would love to arrange things with a sense of symmetry and style, but that requires significant complexity starting with the design of the movement. O
Question about AP 15450 Series J
Does anyone owned AP 15450 new series? Please help me verify if your AP back case engraved only series and Royal Oak text like mine in the picture? I have noticed that some has engraved N and number on top of series. Thank you.
So beautiful it deserves its own thread!
I recently posted how I'd been bitten by the AP bug with shots of my 42mm Elephant....well, just got the Horus graphite camo strap and decided she needed her own thread....beauty!
