Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 Ref. 116600 Watch 2014 Hands-On
Have you been waiting for a new Rolex Sea-Dweller? Among a series of new models, Rolex has announced a new version of their famed professional diving watch, the Rolex Sea-Dweller. Carrying the new reference 116600, the 2014 Rolex Sea-Dweller sticks very close to the look and feel of past iterations of this historic diver with very close ties to the Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 which was discontinued in 2008. The Rolex Sea-Dweller was originally launched in 1967 as a response to the expanding world of saturation diving. Thanks to input from the US Navy (via the SEALAB II program) and French Comex divers, Rolex designed a watch that was capable of withstanding extreme pressure and expelling the helium gas that can seep into the case during a saturation dive.An excellent example of what people mean when they say "tool watch," the Rolex Sea-Dweller is is the stuff of dive watch legend, and Rolex didn't mess with the established formula for this updated version. New Strap
Last year I purchased a SuperOcean II 44 Special. It originally was supplied with an Ocean Racer rubber strap with tang buckle. While this strap is great for diving (I use a short wrist lanyard looped through one of the holes for added security), I recently ordered a Military Rubber strap with deployant buckle. IMO this is a much better look for this watch and is more comfortable. I included photos of the before and after.

My Vintage Ploprof is now complete
So!Finally got the brand new luminova bezel for my Ploprof 600! And all I can say is WOW!This thing GLOWS!Now it makes sense. This is what it was supposed to look like. Hands, dial, seals and bezel changed. Next week it will receive a well worth service to the movement. New bezel still in packaging:New bezel installed. And a picture in the dark!

Submariner Bezel Replacement - Dallas
Hey all! Calling in all Dallas TRFer's to advise me on a replacement bezel insert for my 16610. Accidentally knocked it earlier today and it must've popped off as I noticed my little guy was looking very naked once I got home. I'll be heading out of town on Tuesday and was hoping to just swing by a local AD or RSC Dallas? to see if anyone would be willing to replace the bezel insert only within the day. I've seen several threads a few years back where members got bezel insert replacements for about $75 at RSC Dallas in about 45 minutes but just wanted to see if anyone had a more recent experience with this or if there's another AD that they would recommend.Thank you!
