Fiona Krger Celebration Skull Watch
When we first brought you a hands-on impression of the original watches Fiona Krger was creating, Ariel mentioned that the pieces were very reminiscent of the skeletons you see associated with "Day of the Dead," or Da de Muertos. The exception, to my eyes, was the fact that they were rather monochromatic. Now, I'm not a necessarily a celebrant of that day, but it calls to mind something very vividly colored. With her latest model, the Fiona Krger Celebration Skull, that's all changed. As you can see by these photos, the Fiona Krger Celebration Skull very much hews to the aesthetic of the celebration. It follows the basic geometry established in the earlier watches, and adds the use of colorful lacquer (and superluminova) to the three-layer dial. For me, this sort of juxtaposition of lively color and the epitome of mortality (a skull) is something I can certainly appreciate, though it's not a theme I personally am drawn to.The Fiona Krger Celebration Skull also marks the first time
Strap options 15400
Hey Guys, I was in my local AD today and they said a strap wouldn't fit on the 15400 or 26320. Think I remember reading a thread with different strap options, but cannot find it.Has anyone put a strap on theirs and what's involved? Thanks in advance
Globemaster steel on steel, silver dial
I have recently gotten another itch. I was looking on Omega site and fell in love with the above. Any ADs are over 2 hrs from where I live but pics make the silver face look almost white which is what I also like about it.Anyone currently own one of these? Its obviously a dead ringer for the rollie Datejust but at about $3K less from reseller.Rated by many blogs as far superior from engine standpoint. Anyone have any thoughts or pics? BTW Omega had fluted bezels way back in the 1950s/60s so no, they didnt copy rollie.
New Strap *fingers crossed*
I passed bye atelier du bracelet parisien (ABP) this morning in paris was my first time to them.I found them to be very helpful and they had a great collection of leathers ...I wanted a special strap for my Marina Militare pam587 so I settled on a glossy croco leather strap which turned out of be their most expensive leathersI picked the color with contrasting stiching .. and shall pick the strap up next Thursday hopefully In the end when all the xpenses added up the price turned out to be more than 3 times the price I expected to pay at first ! So I hope it turns out worth the investment.Fingers crossed I hope it turns out nice In the picture are my favourite 3 colors out of more than 30 specimens of glossy croco and ended picking one of them.
One watch only choice-BLNR or Sub C No Date
I thought I was fixed on getting the Sub C no date. Recently, the BLNR looks quite attractive though..and it is rarer (would be worth more in future). What's your one watch choice between the two?
