Piaget Polo Key Dive Watch Available On James List
A Piaget dive watch?! Oh yes, and here is the proof. Get ready to go underwater in your black bow tie. I was pretty amazed to discover this watch that was made in the mid 1990s. It is very difficult to find information on this watch by the way. I believe it is called the Piaget Polo Key, but it is Ref. 250020 no. GOA22036. I think it is pretty neat - but how primitive does the case look by today's standards? So would you wear a Piaget diver?The case is 38mm wide in 18k yellow gold with elements on the rotating diver's bezel in 18k white gold. That two-toning is rather cool. There is also the reserve version of the watch with a mostly 18k white gold with yellow gold accents. That other model seemed to have a vastly different dial - which makes it clear that this watch was the beginning of the Piaget Polo 45 of the modern era. Considering an AP Diver
Good afternoon everyone,I am relatively new to the AP forum (usually stick to the Rolex and Panerai forums), but I ventured over here about a month or so ago and have really enjoyed everyone's posts and watches. During this time I've been using all of you to familiarize myself with the brand, and so far I am really liking what I'm finding. I've really taken a liking to the SS AP Diver, though I do have a concern.First, a little background on me. I have a relatively small, but flat 6.5 wrist. Currently I own a black SubC and a Panerai 312. The SubC fits my wrist perfectly (love the glidelock mechanism) and the 44mm Pam fits ok, but is definitely pushing the limit as far as size goes. There's no way I could go any bigger than 44mm as to keep from looking silly. Right now I currently use the SubC as my daily wearer and the Pam comes out for casual Fridays and the weekend. Will the 5140-G/J/R become a collectible ?
I was a frequent visitor to TRF (and the PP Boutique ! ) last year when I bought myself several PP's, including a 5140-G (white dial) as an every day wearer. I have recently been re-thinking my collection and decided to sell off a few of the discontinued classics to make way for some alternatives.. This has brought me back to TRF after an absence, which has led to the discovery that my trusty 5140-G is no longer in production. I thought that the 5140 was a real classic which would stay around rather longer. Does anyone know why the gold models were discontinued (leaving only the 5140P), and what has replaced them ?Oddly, a quick search threw up a post dated only a couple of weeks ago on another forum, in which someone was agonising between buying a new 5140-G and -J from an AD. I thought stocks were pretty limited even when in production, so it seems strange to see AD's still selling them. I wonder whether it is now attracting a discount (or perhaps a premium ?) once discontinued.
