Showing at WatchTime IBG 2014: Hublot Big Bang Ferrari Titanium Carbon
WatchTime and noted watch collector and expert Jeff Kingston are teaming up again to present the 2014 edition of the popular Inside Basel.Geneva collector event series, and we’re kicking things off September 5 in Chicago. We’ll also visit New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco. We're fortunate to have Hublot as a core sponsor, and at the show, you will be able to try on the new, limited edition Big Bang Ferrari Titanium Carbon.Hublot launched its collaboration with Ferrari in 2012. The partnership has already produced some memorable timepieces, including last year's MP-05 LaFerrari with its world-record 50 days of power reserve. This year, Hublot?has launched three new Ferrari Big Bang models, and at each of the IBG shows, you will be able to see, touch and try on this showcase model, the Big Bang Ferrari Titanium Carbon (BB FTC), which features Hublot's now-famous red sapphire crystal. The BB FTC is powered by Hublot's in-house HUB 1241 Unico movement, which is designed,
Antiquorum’s May 8-9 Geneva Auction Offers Many Delights
Antiquorum's Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches, & Clocks Auction, to be held on Saturday and Sunday May 8 and 9 at the Mandarin Oriental Geneva, will offer more than 450 selected vintage and modern timepieces for sale. Top items include a Patek Philippe 10 Day Tourbillon, an Audemars Piguet Cabinet No. 2, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon No. 1/1 Piece Unique, and more. My first Audemars Piguet Purchase!
I was thinking long and hard aboute the new royal oak chrono but at the end of the day, I couldn't get over some of the updates (uneven sub dials in contrasting colours, location of the date) and the fact that it wasn't an in-house movement. I still think it's a beautiful watch however when I put on the 15400OR with the blue dial, it was a done deal. Absolutely thrilled to have this piece! More pics to come!
Things to look out for on safe queens...
So in my journey to find my grail (rb2ti), I've gotten a crash course in shady sellers and sketchy ebay postings. I want to say 911Cab and Aviv has been very helpful in guiding me through the noise. I've seen a lot of mint & great condition ones but very very few NIBs.One thing I didn't think through was whether or not a safe queen is preferred over one that's been worn and in rotation. Are safe queens similar to exotic cars where if you don't take it for a spin occasionally, it's detrimental to the watch? Edwin
Dressing Down A 5196G?
Can it be done? I love the watch but I'm just not sure it fits into my life. I dress pretty informally most days. I once had a vintage YG Calatrava and I rarely wore it for this reason. I'm hoping that WG and the right strap might make this work. Any experiences? Pics with different straps would be great. Thanks!
