Sinn Now Places Impressive Diapal Technology In 757 UTC Watch Series
When you consider what goes on inside of a watch movement, it is impressive that they even work at all. I mean really, have you ever considered the delicate dance of components harmonically beating and gyrating to the rhythm of the balance wheel which must maintain a strenuously high level of consistency? To think such sophistication was birthed so long ago, and yet only now serious improvement are being made. The constant motion of component on component is a close relationship of neighboring metals (literally), and has the unpleasant side effect of friction. If you are mechanically minded, you will surely fathom that years of metal on metal contact has the side effect of wearing out the parts. This however is interestingly avoided in most part to special oils and the use of "rubies" for lubrication and to reduce wear. Rubies, are polished stones that after as strong points between various moving pieces of a watch. Gems are particularly hard (even the synthetic ones uses in watches) an
Orient Defender FET0N002K0 Review
If your faith in affordable watches is ever shaken (not that there is reason for it to be) you can always turn to Orient to deliver something that will reinvigorate it. Their collection is markedly diverse, which is refreshing to begin with, powered by their own mechanical movements, well made and always well priced. From the vintage styled Bambino to the rugged M-Force to the modern Disk, you'll be sure to find something to suit your style and your wallet.Of the many type of watches that Orient makes, they tend to pull off military inspired watches particularly well. As a genre that is very well represented by brands, it's rare for anyone to seem different, but Orient's designs manage to. A few months ago we looked at the Sparta, which was fun and unique, with a somewhat vintage appeal. Today, we're going to take a look at the Defender, which is a more modern take on the aviator/field watch, with a cool and different look, great features and, yup, an amazing price. The watch features t
5905
Well. I wondered how long it would take, now I'm lucky enough to be in the patek club - until I started to look outside the Nautilus rangeI've worked thru a fair few rolex and omega in my day, always being incredibly happy with each, but always an eye on the horizon. I had a 15202 6 months now and am still disinterested in the other ap references, I'm just so smittenBut with patek - the Nautilus 5711 is where I landed. I've looked around the 5990 and the 5712... Both are amazing.... But as of the last few days I've been looking at the others and do rather fancy a 5905..... Also I see the 5170 appeals to my eye!!! Its a serious watch in every way... But that brings a serious decision and a heck of a commitment financially, so I'd like to understand its place in the market and the user experience more if possible!?How is its reputation?Resale / residual value?Have we got any owners here to share views or pictures?Kind thanks
Happy New Year
That 2018 may fulfill all our watch dreams.
The Nato Challenge
I've always been of a fan of challenging myself and exiting my comfort zone, so I challenge myself to 15 days of Nato straps . I'll wear my watches exclusively on natos and will post a photo everyday along with a quick thought. We'll see how this goes, wish me luck.
