Junghans Meister Kalendar Watch
If you need just one reason to love Germans today let it be this watch by German watch maker Junghans. The Meister Kalendar is one of their more retro-looking pieces embodying the spirit of Bauhaus design's beautiful functionality and the graceful lines of a dress watch. Masterfully composed, the Meister Kalendar hides a few design secrets that make it so lovely to look at. It isn't terribly expensive either, and this is a brand that you'll be happy to check out - though it isn't without its quirks.Pretty much all good German stuff has quirks right? Well, that probably goes for all things. As an avid driver of German cars and wearer of German underpants (joke! only if...) I find an endearing quality to Germanic design. The Mesiter Kalendar watch isn't over-designed, which is good. Germans are excellent at minimalist design when they wish to be. Though as a brand Junghans has taken the production of retro-themed timepieces quite seriously. They want this and other Meister collection wat
AD's in New York/New Jersey & ROO Diver
I have been a collector of Rolex watches for the last few years and have just begun looking at APs to add to my collection. I live in New York City and would like to find someone local if I could. I know AP has the boutique on 57th street but in my experience the boutique prices are not competitive at all (please correct me if I'm wrong). I also know of Tourneau but their prices are also not as competitive in my experience. I have a great AD for Rolex's out in NJ who gets me competitive prices and keeps me updated on new models coming in. I am looking for the same type of person for my AP purchase. If anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. The first watch I am looking to get is the ROO diver. I have been quietly scanning the pages of this forum and this watch really sticks out as my next purchase. If anyone can also provide some insight as to what a fair discount % that I can expect off MSRP that would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Any other invitees to the London dinner on 27 May ?
I am the happy recipient of an invitation to the special guided tour and dinner being hosted by Thierry Stern at the Saatchi Gallery on the opening day of the London 175th Anniversary exhibition next week. I was wondering if any other TRF PP aficionados are going to be there and, if so, how we will all recognise one another ??
Cutting rubber strap?
Hello all, taking delivery of my first Patek (5167r) this next week. I planned on getting it in person but I'm having it shipped instead. Has anyone sized the strap themselves? If so, what tools do I need? I removed the links from my AP bracelet so I'm not afraid of taking on the challenge! Thanks in advance.
Bangles & bracelets with your rolex..
What's are people opinions on bangles and bracelets? Any pictures? Any recommendations?
