My First AP arrived today!!
The watch that has been haunting me ever since I discovered this forum is now with me, a big thank you to DavidSW for making this happen, great service, communication at at great deal. It's a Diver, and I could not be happier, an amazing watch that looks so much better in person than in photos, well my photos anyway!!Attachment 382350Attachment 382351Attachment 382352ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366978096.734877.jpgJust wanted to say a big thankyou to everyone who had posted photos of the Diver and to Submarino for his review of the Diver which first got me intrigued by this amazing piece.
Navitimer World Chrono
Hey guys - have a problem with my Navitimer World chronograph, when I press the start button it only moves one second, and the reset doesn't do anything.Any ideas, or does it need a trip to the dealer for a service?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Received the " call " earlier in NE London lol
I am happy to share that we took a call from Rolex/Tudor over in Harrods late this afternoon offering one of the Harrods BBs,,,,,rare to get a call from an AD in this part of the world,,, After a nice chat this morning which I posted in the long term Harrods bb thread to then be offered a numbered piece is a huge and welcome surprise so I be off in a couple of days to pick her up,,, Still in shock,,,
Incoming. SS Rolex (BLNR). From a UK AD(!!!)
Finally got the call today. Absolutely stoked. Deposit down. Pick up on Saturday. I thought, since from time to time on here folk enquire about getting hold of popular sports Rolexes in the UK, I'd briefly relay my experience. I'm not an expert, and I'm not saying what I've done is the best or only way of getting hold of one. But it's what I did. Bear in mind, this will be my first Rolex, albeit I have a few nice watches from other brands I had no kudos with any AD save for an Omega boutique. I'm not a VIP, nor a big spender on PM watches. So the hunt began last Summer. Saw a BLNR in Watchfinder Canary Wharf and fell for it - this watch looks so much better in the metal and on the wrist than any picture. I went straight across to the nearest AD (WOS Canary Wharf) and got myself a place at number 140(!) on their waiting list (quoted 1 year). Then, with my wife for some unknown reason enthused about the hunt, I resolved to incorporate finding local Rolex AD's on our frequent weekend trip
Tudor Pelagos vs Rolex SubC Date?
I was speaking with a friend about this today and he brought up some good points. Is the Pelagos a better choice for a daily wearer? Comparing the in house movement 25600TN to the 116610LN. Aside from being quite similar to the SubC, the Tudor has:-Better water resistance at 500m-Better power reserve at 70hr-Gas escape valve like that on the more expensive Sea Dweller-No cyclops which is a perk to a lot of peopleThe Rolex has:-Better finishing-Longer, 5 year warrantyOutside of these points, the watches are incredibly similar. Same purpose, well built, both have micro adjustable clasps, all in all great daily wearers. However, when you can buy a brand new Pelagos for $3500, but a brand new Rolex SubC date is $7500..........is it really worth a $4000 premium? Opinions?
