Watches NEWS
Navy Themes
Now, I am a real fan of Rolex and my 116613 is perfect for me. I wear it everywhere, daily. Thing is, I've not really been much into AP and I am a total novice on the brand. I have seen a watch, an absolutely gorgeous thing, and I believe it's called Navy Themes. They seem to be discounted to about 13k in the UK. So, are their any available wrist shots, advice generally and thoughts on UK prices? I have seen one in the flesh at Selfridges in Manchester. I like larger watches and it seemed substantial. A Daytona, for example, does not suit my wrist and looks too small.Thanks.
Speedy reduced service...
If you'll remember, I picked up this Speedy Auto a while back: (HERE).It was runnning way too fast and the lume was deteriorated pretty bad on the hands. For giggles, I got in touch with Dalton Toledo of ABC Watchworks to see if he'd be interested in tinkering with the infamous engine and give it a service...We talked cars for a while and then, being the gent that he is, he said send it in!Got it back a couple days ago. Would it surprise anyone that it's now running only 3 seconds off per day? It also has brand new hands and the pushers are alot friendlier to push. Subdials still not aligned perfectly, but they're notorious for that issue even when new...and this one's 20+ years old.Gotta give a thumbs-up to Dalton Toledo. Highly recommended.
Forum a.d.?

My 5164 with cufflinks
Had a chance to wear my new 5164 with my Calatrava cufflinks and I think they worked really well. The watch felt quite dressy on my wrist even on the rubber, as it is a small and exquisite piece.
Visit to Japan - Nakano Broadway
I've just come home from a week long holiday to Japan; it was my first time there. Spent most of my days in Tokyo, with a 2d1n trip to Hakone-Gotemba. Naturally, I've read a lot about Jack Road and watch hunting in Tokyo (a lot of it from here on TRF), so I planned a full day of just browsing for watches. I found out much later, that Jack Road is actually within a sort of mall or shopping complex. About 3 storeys high and inside, a whole chunk of shops that sells preowned bags, watches, jewelry... basically luxury goods. There are also magazine, comic and toy stores; it can get a little confusing. Since I read that Jack Road was on the third floor, that's where I started. I think two of the major stores on the third floor are Jack Road and Kame-Kichi. There's also a Betty Road which caters to watches for women. Once you take the escalator that goes directly from ground floor (1F) to third floor (3F), turn right and you'll see Jack Road. Kame-Kichi is somewhere along the left of the esc
