Incoming Restoration Ref 570
I have sent a couple of vintage Patek watches to Geneva for a full restoration. I just got the call that HSWA has one of the two. It's a Ref 570. I give you the before photo today. The watch will be here on Monday, and I'll then give you the after photo.I have been waiting 6 months for this one.Enjoy
5711 clasp ambivalence
I'm not up for a patek bashing so please don't think I'm a hater. I love my 5711. But ....I remember feeling the same way as I did when I got my first (pre ceramic) rolex submariner. Effectively slightly disappointed with the clasp. Compared to the new 114060 for example the older 14060 seems to be far less sturdy and perhaps fragile or insubstantial. Yet I do know many like its roots, its no bling form, and - i know its functionality is unquestionable...When I play with my 5711, I'm just left feeling that the clasp is a little awkward to undo... It reminds me of the tool aspect of rolex evolution - which I hadn't expected from a patek - as you never hear them reffered to in that way... I must say - The arrangement on the 40th anniversary AP 15202 just seems more pleasing.Hopefully I'll grow used to it, I have only had it a few weeks...Does anyone feel this way? Or can anyone help me appreciate the patek clasp experience more?Good day all....
5960 second hand does not reset to 12 o'clock position
Is this a common issue among 5960 or 5980 owners?
Incoming: 2nd Rolex (long)
We were pretty much newlyweds in 1986 when my wife surprised me with a TT DJ36 for my birthday. She had been socking away some of her salary for months to be able to pay for it without me suspecting. I was a little nervous wearing it at first for fear of loss or breakage as up until then, my most expensive watch was a $35 Casio. At any rate, it has been my daily wear pretty much since then. Ten years ago, I was in NYC and dropped it off for service and had the champagne dial changed to black (sacrilege, now I know).A couple of months ago, I noticed a colleague wearing a Submariner, admired it and thought it may be time for a new Rolex. Did some research on the Rolex website and decided upon a white SS Daytona. I think you all know what happened when I walked into my local AD and asked about it! After that, did some googling and found this site. Read it for a while and thought a Polar Explorer 2 with the second time zone complication would be my next watch. Went to a different AD in a m
Which link do I need for this women's Rolex?
Hi guys,Just looking for some advice if anyone can help?My other half has a Oyster Petpetual two tone watch, looks like an old model and we need a link for the bracelet. It looks to be about 9-10mm wide and doesn't have a screw on the side, its more of an overlap design. I did try to attach pics but as my account is new it blocked it. If anyone can post a pic I will confirm if its the right one of not.Does anyone know the model number link we need or even better have one for sale? Thanks
