Major news out of Biel, Switzerland, this morning: The Swatch Group has announced the appointment of a new president at Omega, following Stephen Urquhart's decision to retire.Mr. Urquhart, 69, had been Omega's president and CEO since 1999, and was an important member of the Swatch Group Extended Group Management Board. He retires in June, but will continue to work closely with Omega as a consultant on special projects. His decision comes during a crucial time for Omega, just weeks after Baselworld and months before the Summer Olympics in Rio, its single largest communications operation of the year.Replacing him at the top on June 1 will be Raynald Aeschlimann. I am an avid Rolex loyalist (with one Breitling Bentley Motors in the collection). I am intrigued by the Panerai piece. Not really familiar with the Brand by collection, my question is, Do Panerai's hold (go up) value like Rolex? Is there certain models that are better than others? Thanks in advance for any input.

Picking up my first Rolex on Thursday.I explained that I would likely require an extra link however the saleswoman was a bit surprised at this and that it would need to be ordered in. I thought this seemed a little odd and would have expected them to at least have a couple available.She said we would see how we got on and didn't seem keen to order this in advance however I knownfor certain I'll need at least 1 extra link. Double Incoming And A Bit Different!
I've wanted a different Rolex for some time now, call me quirky (which is probably the nicest thing I'll be called here for my choices). As I decided on this different watch, though, I could not help but lambaste myself for not buying a proper tool watch. I'm apparently a tool watch addict.The closer that I got to pulling my cash out at my AD for the more unconventional Rolex, the more I thought that I was a fool for sacrificing the type of functionality that would allow me to, say, leave my watch on the bathroom counter while I shower (not in Florida of course) or send it to the darkest recesses of my safe for up to a week at a time...I needed toughness and versatility obviously, and I could not buy something less standard without counterbalancing it with this elusive (and strictly conceptual) functionality.
