Sony Debuts The SmartWatch 2 Friend For Your Phone
Sony recently introduced the follow up to its original "Smartwatch" with the 2013 Smartwatch 2. When it comes to the smartwatch segment, we're certainly getting more and more choices to select from. Of course, the 900 pound gorilla in the room would be the rumors swirling as to whether or not Apple will get in the game (just earlier this week they registered a trademark in China for iWatch), as well as what Dell may do.Past that, many of the brands in the segment are smaller startups, which may (or may not) give the casual consumer some pause, wondering if the brand will be around in a few years to provide warranty service on the watch. For those folks, a watch carrying the Sony logo on it is likely some comfort. And make no mistake - these smartwatches are aimed at the mainstream consumer, not necessarily us watch-collecting types. In other words, we look to be blown away by something, and will compare it (inevitably) to the various mechanical watches that hit the same price point. And
Introducing: The HMX 'Black Badger, Or The Most Fun Watch We Saw At Baselworld 2016
I'm not sure the HMX "Black Badger" is a watch that needed to exist, and that could be exactly why MB&F and James Thompson decided it should. It's wonderfully mad, just like its creators. And it has the power to turn grown men into 10-year-old boys, blissfully unaware they are playing with a $50,000 object. 1 OF 10 Minutes after the new HMX was unveiled, we knocked our chairs back and hurriedly got on all fours and under the table to check out the luminescent capabilities of the watch. And we weren’t disappointed. 2 OF 10 We've known about James Thompson for a few years. Under the alias "Black Badger," the Canadian accessory designer has been making waves on Instagram, where he posts photographs of his rings glowing in the dark. His secret is a photoluminescent composite called AGT ULTRA. The material is capable of emitting a "passive glow" that can last up to 40 percent longer than SuperLuminova C but it requires a very strong charge of light. His
Introducing: The Omega Speedmaster CK2998 Limited Edition (Details & Official Pricing)
Breaking news from the earliest hours of the 2016 Baselworld show – Omega has taken on yet another of its all-time classics, the reference CK2998. This is a limited edition watch, and features some of the attributes that make the 2998 such a fun, desirable watch – and they've gone ahead and added a significant dose of color. 1 OF 42 OF 4 First things first, the design notes they took directly from the 2998-1: the alpha hands for hours and minutes and all sub-registers. Next, we have a base 1000 bezel, and even a lollipop seconds hand! The lollipop hand is one of the most loved and desired traits in a vintage Speedy, so it's fun to see it in the re-edition of the 2998. 3 OF 4 An original 1960 reference CK2998-1 with lollipop hand. ADVERTISEMENT As for what's different? Well, the obvious use of a rich navy blue on the dial and the bezel. Here we see the color dose in the minutes track, while the bezel i

Strap options for BLNR
I just purchased my first Rolex. It's an awesome time piece and the one issue I have with it is the polished center links. I'm not terribly rough on my watches but I know it will get scratches. That being said, I think I want to look at replacing the bracelet for summer beach vacations/cruising. I'd imagine sand could do a number on the polish on those center links.I have looked into both RubberB and Everest. I am just curious I as to what other options people are going with. Any nato or zulus on your Batman?? And lastly, how difficult is the swap?? Any specific tools needed? My AD offered to do the swap for me but I would hate to continue bringining it their every couple of weeks throughout the summer. On a side note, he offered to polish the links once a year free of charge as well.
